How much does the 2022 Lexus RX cost?

Is the 2022 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Lexus RX earns a 4.77/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its smooth ride, advanced tech, and luxury feel. That lines up with the RX’s comfort-first, refined character, especially if you want a polished luxury SUV rather than something tuned for speed. It also fits buyers who value dependability and an easygoing daily drive.

With 22.6% of listings priced as good or great deals, there are some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX reliable?

Owner feedback repeatedly points to comfort, features, and a pleasure-to-drive experience, while also reinforcing the RX’s dependable, trouble-free reputation. The expert assessment also highlights comfort, quality, and reliability as core strengths, which fits the RX’s long-standing appeal.

The main ownership risk for used buyers is that some examples may have seen harder use than their reputation suggests, so condition and maintenance history matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus RX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RX 350 is the starting point, while F Sport models add a more athletic appearance with 20-inch wheels, black-housing mirrors, dark window trim, F Sport badging, and a unique front fascia. The cabin also varies by trim, with F Sport models getting model-specific badging and Scored Aluminum trim, pedals, and footrest. Base variants are less visually aggressive and less richly equipped than the sportier versions.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 295 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, while the RX 450h hybrid adds two electric motors for 308 hp. All models use an 8-speed automatic, and AWD is standard in Canada.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard and includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, pre-collision braking with cyclist and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and a three-year trial of Lexus Enform Safety Connect are also standard. The RX only earns its Top Safety Pick result with the optional triple-beam LED headlights.
• Infotainment: Standard infotainment is an 8-inch touchscreen, with a 12.3-inch screen standard on the 450h L and optional on other trims. Wireless charging, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, navigation with cloud-based updates, and a WiFi hotspot are available, but the touchpad interface is frustrating to use.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 is rated at 12.2 L/100 km city, 9.0 highway, and 10.8 combined. The RX 350 L rises to 13.1 city, 9.4 highway, and 11.1 combined. The RX 450h is rated at 7.9 L/100 km combined, while the 450h L is rated at 8.1 combined.

Which 2022 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350 L, RX 450h, RX 450h L.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the core gas model and the best fit if you want the RX’s comfort, luxury feel, and standard AWD without paying for the hybrid or three-row versions. It gives you the essential RX experience with the broadest appeal.
• RX 350 L: Choose this if you want the three-row, 7-passenger layout and can accept the added size and higher fuel use. It suits families who need the extra seating more than maximum efficiency.
• RX 450h: This is the best-value choice if you want the hybrid’s stronger efficiency and slightly higher output without moving to the long-wheelbase version. It adds the most compelling efficiency upgrade in the lineup.
• RX 450h L: Pick this if you want the hybrid powertrain plus the three-row layout and the standard 12.3-inch infotainment screen. It is the most feature-rich option, but also the most specialised.

The RX has a Top Safety Pick result only when equipped with the optional triple-beam LED headlights.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with some room to find value if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 133 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.25% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $43,696 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $43,698 CAD sits slightly below last year's $45,164 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the RX has become a bit more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier to move later if you buy at the right number. A lower entry price today can help protect your position if the market stays steady.

The RX’s comfort, quality, and reliability should continue to support demand among shoppers who want a refined luxury SUV. That said, future resale strength will depend on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.77/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus RX safe?

The 2022 Lexus RX has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but only if equipped with the optional triple-beam LED headlights, and it earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA with five-star side crash ratings and four-star frontal crash and rollover ratings.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System 2.0+ is standard, and it includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road-sign recognition, lane-keeping assist, lane-tracing assist, a pre-collision system with cyclist and pedestrian detection, and intelligent high beams. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a head-up display, and a three-year trial of Lexus Enform Safety Connect are also standard.

The main caveat is that the RX misses the IIHS top-tier plus designation because of its headlights rating, so shoppers should pay close attention to headlight equipment on used examples.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 22.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.25% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.77/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 is a carryover model with minimal changes, including new colours and a standalone fog lamps option.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $50,202 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $43,698 CAD average.
• The redesign brings a more modern, appealing cabin and updated overall package.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better buy if you want the RX’s comfort, reliability, and luxury feel at a lower price. If you can stretch for the 2023, you’ll get the redesigned model, but price-sensitive buyers should focus on the 2022’s stronger value.
