What should I look for when buying a used Jeep Cherokee?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, and Active Driving Assist
• Infotainment: a 12.3-inch touchscreen with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel economy of 6.3 litres per 100 kilometres combined (6.1 city, 6.7 highway)

Which Jeep Cherokee trim should I buy?

The 2026 Jeep Cherokee offers these trims:

• Base: standard all-wheel drive, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the hybrid powertrain; this is the best-value starting point if you want the Cherokee’s core setup.
• Laredo: adds more equipment while keeping the same hybrid foundation and standard AWD, making it a sensible step up for shoppers who want more content without moving to the top of the range.
• Limited: adds leatherette seats, wireless device charging, and a stronger convenience focus for buyers who want a more upscale daily driver.
• Overland: adds 20-inch wheels, traffic sign recognition, a surround-view camera system, and the most premium cabin presentation in the lineup.

What Jeep Cherokee do most buyers choose?

The Jeep Cherokee years with the most listings are 2020, 2019, and 2018.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they sit in the sweet spot between price, feature content, and availability. They also give shoppers more choice, which makes it easier to compare trims and find a well-priced example.

What is the Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The table shows broad downward movement across the Cherokee lineup, which can work in your favour if you are shopping used. The newer model years are seeing especially sharp drops, while the older years are falling too, but by slightly smaller amounts. That creates a wide spread of value opportunities depending on how much equipment and age you want to balance.

The 2014, 2015, and 2018 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.

Jeep offers standard driver assistance features including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, and Active Driving Assist.
