What should I look for when buying a used Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Fuel efficiency: The Civic’s Natural Resources Canada fuel economy ratings are respectable at 7.6 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 6.0 on the highway, and 6.9 in combined driving.
• Infotainment: The Civic’s standard 7-inch digital instrumentation panel and 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system are models of simplicity.

Which Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2026 Honda Civic offers these trims:

• LX: The entry trim uses the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with a CVT and front-wheel drive, and it suits you if you want the most affordable way into the lineup.
• Sport: Adds 18-inch wheels, a shiny exhaust outlet tip, and a more distinctive look while keeping the same core powertrain; this is the best-value trim if you want a nicer feel without moving up the price ladder.
• Sport Hybrid: Brings Honda’s two-motor hybrid powertrain for stronger efficiency and more impressive power, making it a smart pick if fuel savings matter most.
• Sport Touring Hybrid: Adds larger 10.2-inch instrumentation and 9-inch infotainment displays, Google built-in, a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless smartphone charging, 12-speaker Bose audio, and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking.

What Honda Civic do most buyers choose?

The Honda Civic years with the most listings are 2023, 2021, and 2024.

These higher-volume years tend to be popular because they offer a strong mix of newer features, broad availability, and pricing that still sits below brand-new inventory. More listings also give you a better chance of finding the colour, trim, and equipment combination you want.

What is the Honda Civic's resale value?

Most Civic model years are down year over year, which is helpful if you are shopping used and want to stretch your budget further. The newer models in the table are still declining, but the changes are smaller than the sharper drops seen in several older years. That pattern suggests the Civic remains in demand while still giving buyers some room to negotiate.

The 2014, 2015, and 2026 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
