What should I look for when buying a used Acura TLX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Safety package: AcuraWatch advanced driver assistance systems, including automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning and road-departure mitigation, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: wireless Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth connectivity, and a wireless charging pad.
• Fuel efficiency: For the 2024 Acura TLX, Natural Resources Canada estimates fuel economy for the A-Spec trim at 11.3 liters per 100 kilometres in city driving, 8.1 on the highway, and 9.8 combined. In the TLX Type S, this figures go up to 12.3 L/100 km city, 9.4 highway, and 11.0 combined.

Which Acura TLX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Acura TLX offers these trims:

• A-Spec: The Canada base trim brings 19-inch alloy wheels, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, LED fog lights, and Acura’s SH-AWD; it’s the best-value choice if you want the core TLX experience with strong equipment.
• Type S: This performance-focused trim adds a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6, 20-inch wheels, gloss black exterior accents, quad exhaust finishers, adaptive dampers, more robust stabilizers, and Brembo brake calipers for buyers who want the most power and the most aggressive hardware.

What Acura TLX do most buyers choose?

The Acura TLX years with the most listings are 2016, 2020, and 2019.

These higher-volume years tend to draw more shoppers because they offer a wider selection and often sit in the sweet spot between price, equipment, and age. That usually makes them easier to compare and shop confidently.

What is the Acura TLX's resale value?

Most TLX model years are down year over year, which is good news if you’re shopping used because it opens up more value across the lineup. The newer models are also showing smaller declines than several older ones, so they’re giving up less value over the past year. Overall, the table points to a market where used buyers can find meaningful savings, especially on recent model years.

The 2021, 2024, and 2019 model years have held their value best, with the smallest year-over-year price changes.
