Why it stands out
The 2017 Acura TLX sits in the first-generation run of Acura’s sport sedan, and its appeal comes from the way it blends premium-car comfort with a more engaging driving character than many buyers expect. It was offered with two engine choices: a 2.4-litre four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, or a 3.5-litre V6 paired with a nine-speed automatic. The four-cylinder produced 206 horsepower and 182 pound-feet of torque, while the V6 delivered 290 hp and 267 lb-ft of torque, and the V6 could also be paired with SH-AWD. Acura also gave the TLX an innovative four-wheel steering system, which helped set it apart from more conventional sedans.
Inside, the 2017 TLX brought a fairly rich standard equipment list for its class. Base models included LED headlights and brake lights, a sunroof, keyless entry and ignition, dual-zone automatic climate control, leatherette upholstery, heated front seats with power adjustability, and a seven-speaker audio system. Its infotainment setup used two displays, including an eight-inch screen mounted on top of the dash and a seven-inch centre display. Buyers who wanted more could add the Technology Package with real leather seating surfaces, voice commands, navigation, and an ELS 10-speaker premium audio system, while V6 models could be fitted with an Elite Package that added features such as ventilated front seats, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, and automatic braking for forward collision mitigation.
There are also some clear drawbacks to keep in mind. The nine-speed automatic drew complaints, and the TLX’s back seat and cargo space were not especially generous. Even so, the 2017 Acura TLX remains appealing for shoppers who want a used luxury sedan with strong value, a smooth ride, and a chassis that can feel genuinely lively when the road opens up.

Very responsive especially in sport+mode and shift manually. All wheel drive sticks to the road. Abosb bumpy roads like a champ. The brakes can use some improvement though. The transmission will hesitate in eco and normal mode. Just use sport and sport+ and itll take care of it. Although you can totally tell the difference in ride quality in each mode. 25 mpg all around for a V6 is not too bad. Very quiet interior. The upgraded sound system sounds better with Spotify than FM (with subscription gives you higher quality streaming). Would love to have Android Auto for Google Maps, but not offer till 2018. Wish we can retrofit the software. But overall, very happy with its value, performance and comfort.

I enjoyed the Acura Experience. It is a smooth ride and handles well. I dont care for the auto turn off when you stop but you can override that.
