New & Used 2026 BMW X3 for Sale nearNorth Vancouver, BC

Is the 2026 BMW X3 a good car?

The 2026 BMW X3 earns a 6.7/10 from our experts. The standout strength is Performance at 9/10.

It’s aimed at you if you want an SUV that still feels close to a sports sedan, and the data backs that up with a strong mix of driving enjoyment and everyday comfort. The X3 is described as fun to drive, comfortable, and good value for money, and BMW says the base X3 30 xDrive is rewarding enough that some buyers may prefer its savings over the M50’s extra speed and capability.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarising, the interior materials can feel cheap, and the technology is quirky. Even so, the 2026 X3 remains appealing if you want a compact luxury crossover that balances polish, practicality, and driving enjoyment. 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 BMW X3 reliable?

The 2026 BMW X3 is presented as a refined, smooth, and accurate SUV with a strong overall ownership case, and BMW’s own systems are described as customisable with sensitivity settings and the ability to turn individual features on or off. The performance side also sounds reassuringly robust, with the base 30 xDrive and M50 both using mild-hybrid assistance and the stop/start system described as barely noticeable.

BMW also says the X3 is cost-effective compared with key rivals, and the base model gets the best fuel economy among the compact luxury SUVs compared in the review. That said, the test data also shows some real-world tech hiccups, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is more about software and feature complexity than basic mechanical promise.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 BMW X3?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base X3 30 xDrive is the value play, while the M50 adds a more aggressive look and feel, plus performance-focused hardware. The base model’s interior was upgraded for 2026, but the cabin still has an austere feel, so check whether the features you want are present before paying up for higher trims or options.
• Powertrain: The X3 30 xDrive uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 255 horsepower, while the M50 uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder engine with 393 horsepower and 428 pound-feet of torque. Both come with all-wheel drive, and the M50 adds performance hardware such as an M Sport rear differential, M Sport brakes, an Adaptive M suspension, variable sport steering, and an exclusive exhaust system.
• Safety package: Standard driver assistance includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and an active blind-spot monitor that can add steering to help prevent unsafe lane changes. The optional Driving Assistant Professional Package adds lane-centring assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with hands-free traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: The BMW Curved Display combines a 12.3-inch digital driver display with a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The system runs BMW Operating System 9 with QuickSelect, and available features include cloud-based navigation, Augmented View video, a BMW app store, in-vehicle gaming, and video streaming. The Premium Package adds a head-up display and a 15-speaker Harman Kardon surround-sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The official fuel economy rating is 8.6 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the review’s test loop returned 9.8 L/100 km.

Which 2026 BMW X3 trim should I buy?

The 2026 BMW X3 is offered in 2 trim levels: 30 xDrive and M50.

Here's the short version:

• 30 xDrive: This is the best-value choice if you want the X3’s core strengths without stretching your budget. The data says it’s already rewarding to drive, and it still gets all-wheel drive, a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, and the same basic X3 character that makes the model appealing.
• M50: Choose this if you want the quickest, most performance-focused X3 and are willing to pay for it. It adds the turbocharged inline six, stronger acceleration, and the performance hardware that makes it the enthusiast pick, but the review also makes clear that the extra speed comes with a much higher price.

The safety package note is simple: the X3’s standard driver-assistance suite is strong, and the optional Driving Assistant Professional Package adds lane-centring assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with hands-free traffic jam assist.

Is the 2026 BMW X3 safe?

The 2026 BMW X3 earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS and receives a mix of four- and five-star ratings from NHTSA, resulting in an overall four-star rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver assistance includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and an active blind-spot monitor that can add steering to help prevent unsafe lane changes. The optional Driving Assistant Professional Package adds lane-centring assist, lane-change assist, evasive steering assist, and adaptive cruise control with hands-free traffic jam assist.

The review also notes a few caveats: the system can react too aggressively in some situations, including a hard brake event triggered by cyclists in a bike lane, and the hands-free traffic jam assist system does not move over for lane-splitting motorcyclists.

Should I buy a 2026 BMW X3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The 2026 update makes the base model look and feel a little more upscale inside.

Consider the 2025 if:

• The redesigned 2025 X3 is a driver-focused compact luxury SUV with impressive technology and plenty of personalisation.

The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the X3 with a slightly more upscale base interior and you’re comfortable shopping a market where a third of listings are good or great deals, the 2026 is the cleaner pick. If you’re more price-sensitive and want the same core X3 appeal, the 2025 remains worth a look.
