New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale near Macdougall Settlement, NB

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It fits best if you want a compact luxury crossover that feels polished, upscale, and current thanks to the new Volvo Car UX infotainment system, the 11.2-inch touchscreen, and Google Gemini integration. The cabin is a major draw, with premium materials, comfortable seats, and a calm, pampered feel that suits buyers who prioritise comfort and luxury over outright pace.

The trade-offs are clear: the XC60 is described as sluggish, its fuel economy is poor, and its driver assistance tech is unimpressive. Even so, the market signal is still reasonably supportive, with 35.2% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is presented as a familiar, well-established compact luxury crossover with updated technology and standard safety equipment, which supports its everyday dependability. Its new infotainment system and improved wireless smartphone charger suggest Volvo has focused on keeping the vehicle current, while the complimentary four-year connected services plan adds ownership convenience.

From a performance standpoint, the turbocharged 2.0-litre mild-hybrid powertrain is described as modest rather than troublesome, and the SUV is said to work well as a road tripper and be easy to park. The main caution is that the driver assistance tech is not especially polished, so long-term ownership risk for used buyers is more about living with imperfect assistance systems than worrying about the core vehicle being hard to use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 B5 is offered in Core, Plus, and Ultra trim levels, with Ultra also available in Black Edition. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, while the Ultra brings the most upscale cabin details and equipment.
• Powertrain: The B5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 247 horsepower, 266 pound-feet of torque, an eight-speed automatic transmission, all-wheel drive, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. It is not especially quick, and the power delivery can feel uneven.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane centring assist, and the XC60 also includes forward collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. The system is not especially sophisticated, and there is no hands-free highway driving system or low-speed traffic jam assist system.
• Infotainment: Look for the new Volvo Car UX system with the 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, and Google Play. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are supported, but Apple CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada rating is 9.0 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the review loop returned 9.5 L/100 km, with 10.8 L/100 km on the extended mountainous route.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 3 trim levels: Core, Plus, and Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, but the review makes clear that the XC60’s strongest appeal comes from its upscale cabin and updated tech, so this is the trim most likely to feel light on the premium touches that define the model.
• Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value without chasing the most expensive upgrades. It should suit you best if you want the XC60’s comfort and technology without paying for the most lavish extras.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim if you want the XC60 at its most luxurious, because it delivers the richly finished cabin that makes the SUV feel special. The review specifically notes that skipping the 22-inch wheels, air suspension, and Bowers & Wilkins audio makes the Ultra more cost-effective while preserving the cabin experience that stands out most.

The XC60’s safety tech is standard, but the driver assistance system is not a standout, so trim choice is more about comfort, materials, and tech than about major safety-package differences.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA and five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60 includes forward collision warning that can identify large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, intersection braking assist, and Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane centring assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats as an option.

The main caveat is that the driver assistance tech is not especially strong. The lane-keeping and Pilot Assist systems are described as unsophisticated, and the vehicle lacks hands-free highway driving and low-speed traffic jam assist.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 35.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The new Volvo Car UX infotainment system, 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and improved user experience are important to you.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest XC60 experience, the 2026 model is the one to target because it brings the updated infotainment system and keeps the cabin feeling current. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, especially if you can find a better deal on a similarly equipped XC60.
