New & Used 2026 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearKamloops, BC

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 earns an expert rating of 6.5/10. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want a compact luxury crossover that feels polished, upscale, and comfortable rather than especially quick. The updated Volvo Car UX system, 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and improved user experience help it feel more current, while the premium interior materials and comfortable seats support its refined character.

The trade-offs are clear: it’s described as sluggish, its fuel economy is poor, and the driver assistance tech is unimpressive. Even so, the XC60 still has a distinct appeal for buyers who prioritise a pleasant driving environment over outright performance.

14.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 presents itself as a familiar, well-equipped luxury crossover with updated technology and standard adaptive cruise control, which supports its everyday usability. Volvo’s complimentary four-year connected services plan also adds a useful ownership perk.

Its powertrain is a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system, and the expert review notes that it is not especially quick and can feel delayed in response. The infotainment and Google built-in features worked well in testing, which helps the XC60 feel modern where it matters most day to day.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the XC60’s ageing hardware and underwhelming driving manners may be more noticeable over time than its upscale cabin and tech updates.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The XC60 B5 is offered in Core, Plus, and Ultra trim levels, with Ultra also available in Black Edition. The base trim is the one most likely to leave you wanting more, while Ultra brings the most complete luxury experience with features such as the premium cabin details highlighted in the review.
• Powertrain: The B5 uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 247 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, plus a 48-volt mild-hybrid system and eight-speed automatic transmission. It is all-wheel drive, but the review says response can be delayed and the power delivery can feel uneven.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist combines adaptive cruise control with lane centring assist, and standard safety tech also includes forward collision warning that can detect large animals, pedestrians, and cyclists, oncoming collision mitigation braking, and intersection braking assist. The review also notes that the system is not especially sophisticated, and the XC60 lacks hands-free highway driving and low-speed traffic jam assist.
• Infotainment: Look for the new Volvo Car UX system with the 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google built-in, Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Gemini, Google Play, remote app services, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Apple CarPlay requires a wired connection.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada rating is 9.0 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the review recorded 9.5 L/100 km on one fuel economy loop and 10.8 L/100 km on an extended mountainous route.

Which 2026 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 is offered in 3 trim levels: Core, Plus, and Ultra.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point, but the review makes clear that the XC60’s strongest appeal comes from its upscale cabin and updated tech, so this trim is best if you want the XC60 experience at the lowest starting point and can live without the richer equipment.
• Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value, since it sits above the base model without pushing you into the most expensive version.
• Ultra: This is the best-value trim if you want the XC60 at its most luxurious without overdoing the options. The review specifically says skipping the 22-inch wheels, air suspension, and Bowers & Wilkins audio makes the Ultra more cost-effective while preserving the sumptuously outfitted cabin.

The safety package includes Pilot Assist, but the review also notes that the system is not especially advanced compared with rivals.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2026 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and focus on the right listing rather than rushing.

• Deal availability: 14.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 61 listings available.

Is the 2026 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2026 Volvo XC60 did not earn a Top Safety Pick or a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it earns five-star ratings in each individual crash test except for rollover resistance from NHTSA.

It earns a 4/10 safety score from our experts.

The XC60 comes with a broad set of standard safety features, including forward collision warning with pedestrian, cyclist, and large-animal detection, oncoming collision mitigation braking, intersection braking assist, and Pilot Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control with lane centring assist. Volvo also offers factory-installed integrated rear booster child seats as an option.

The main caveat is that the driver assistance tech is not especially polished. The lane-centring and lane keep systems can be inconsistent, and the review notes that the XC60 lacks hands-free highway driving and low-speed traffic jam assist.

Should I buy a 2026 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2026 if:

• 14.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The updated Volvo Car UX infotainment system, 11.2-inch touchscreen, Google Gemini integration, and improved user experience are the main reasons to shop this year.

The bottom line: If you want the newest XC60 tech and a refined cabin, the 2026 model is the one to focus on. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may make more sense, especially if you can find a better deal on a similarly equipped XC60.
