New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Trax for Sale near Wawa, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax earns 7.67/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It fits a useful role in Chevrolet’s Canadian lineup as the brand’s cheapest new car, and it’s aimed at shoppers who want compact-car affordability with crossover practicality. The Trax is described as stylish, pleasant to drive, and impressively equipped for the money, which helps it feel more polished than a bare-bones budget runabout.

The main trade-offs are clear: all-wheel drive is not available, and advanced safety features are not standard. It also has a poor ergonomic design, which can make some controls awkward to use.

With 35.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market gives you a moderate amount of room to shop selectively.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is presented as a straightforward, conventional small crossover with a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine and a six-speed automatic, and the powertrain is described as eager, confident, and not overstressed in normal driving. Chevrolet also backs it with a three-year, 60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty.

Its efficiency and mechanical simplicity should make it easy to live with, and the conventional automatic is a plus if you want to avoid the feel of a CVT. The Trax also includes active noise cancellation, which helps refinement.

For used buyers, the long-term ownership risk is less about the engine layout and more about whether you’re comfortable with the model’s safety limitations and economy-car positioning over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Trax?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 1RS is the base trim and comes with cloth upholstery, 17-inch to 19-inch alloy wheel sizes across the range, and a more basic interior presentation. LT, 2RS, and Activ add more upscale cabin materials, with Activ bringing black-painted 18-inch wheels, a black grille with chrome accents, and skid-plate-style bumpers, while RS models get black Chevy Bowtie badges and RS callouts.
• Powertrain: Every Trax uses a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. It makes 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, and there is no all-wheel-drive option.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels.
• Infotainment: The 1RS gets an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a four-speaker audio system. Higher trims upgrade to an 11-inch touchscreen, an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster, and a six-speaker sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trax is rated at 8.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined, with 8.5 city and 7.6 highway.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 4 trim levels: 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

Here's the short version:

• 1RS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Trax’s core value proposition with wireless smartphone connectivity and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest purchase price and can live without the larger screens and richer cabin presentation.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the larger 11-inch touchscreen, the digital instrument cluster, and a more polished interior without jumping all the way to the pricier appearance-focused trims.
• 2RS: Choose this if you want the sportier RS look and the upgraded cabin tech, but you’re willing to pay more for style rather than extra capability.
• Activ: Pick this if you prefer the more rugged-looking exterior treatment and the unique wheel and bumper design. It’s the most distinctive choice, but not necessarily the best value.

Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels, so check the equipment list carefully if that matters to you.

Should I buy a 2026 Chevrolet Trax or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2026 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• Choose the 2026 if: 35.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Choose the 2026 if: The year’s update is limited to two new exterior colour options, while the core formula stays focused on affordability, style, and technology.

The bottom line: If you want the Trax’s current design and equipment with a decent share of good deals in the market, the 2026 is the straightforward choice. If you’re mainly chasing the lowest possible price, a nearby model year may be the better path for you.
