New & Used 2026 Chevrolet Trax for Sale nearSault Ste. Marie, ON

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax a good car?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax earns a 7.7/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

It fits a useful role in Chevrolet’s Canadian lineup as the brand’s cheapest new vehicle, and it’s aimed at shoppers who want compact-car affordability with crossover practicality. The Trax is described as stylish, pleasant to drive, and impressively tech-forward, which helps it feel more polished than a bare-bones budget runabout.

The main trade-offs are clear: all-wheel drive is not available, and advanced safety features are not standard. It also has a poor ergonomic layout in places, especially for the front passenger.

With 34.4% of listings priced as good or great deals, you have a decent amount of market choice if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2026 Chevrolet Trax reliable?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is presented as a simple, conventional small crossover with a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine, a six-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive, which keeps the mechanical formula straightforward. The engine is described as eager, confident, and not overly stressed, and the conventional automatic helps drivability compared with a CVT.

Chevrolet also backs it with a three-year, 60,000-kilometre bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre powertrain warranty, which supports peace of mind for early ownership.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Trax’s value proposition depends on accepting its compromises, especially its safety limitations and lack of all-wheel drive.

What should I look for when buying a used 2026 Chevrolet Trax?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 1RS is the base model and uses an 8-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get an 11-inch screen, an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster, and a six-speaker audio system. The 1RS also has cloth upholstery, while other trims move to suede-like Evotex or a combination of materials.
• Powertrain: Every Trax uses a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder engine with 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. There is no all-wheel-drive option.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear park assist, and a following distance indicator. Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels.
• Infotainment: The base model gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while higher trims upgrade to an 11-inch touchscreen and an all-digital 8-inch instrument cluster. Two USB ports are standard, and rear-seat charge ports are included on all but the 1RS.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trax is rated at 8.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined, with 8.5 city and 7.6 highway.

Which 2026 Chevrolet Trax trim should I buy?

The 2026 Chevrolet Trax is offered in 4 trim levels: 1RS, LT, 2RS, and Activ.

Here's the short version:

• 1RS: This is the entry point, and it gives you the Trax’s core value story with the standard 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and the full standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the larger 11-inch touchscreen, the digital instrument cluster, and a more upscale cabin presentation without jumping to the top of the range.
• 2RS: Choose this if you want the more distinctive RS look along with the upgraded tech and interior treatment that come with the higher trims.
• Activ: This is the style-focused choice, with black-painted 18-inch wheels, a black grille with chrome accents, and unique bumpers that give it a more rugged appearance.

Adaptive cruise control is available on higher trim levels, so if that feature matters to you, avoid the base model.
