Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander a good car?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander stands out as a practical, comfort-focused midsize SUV with a roomy cabin, upscale features, and a smooth ride. It is especially appealing if you want a dependable, versatile family SUV with strong safety credentials, good fuel economy, and everyday usefulness.

What helps it stand out is the combination of standard Toyota Safety Sense, an 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and all-wheel drive in Canada. It also offers up to 2,387 litres of cargo space with the seats folded, which makes it useful for family hauling and road trips.

Is the 2025 Toyota Highlander reliable?

The 2025 Toyota Highlander has a long reputation for reliability, and that remains one of its biggest strengths. It is built around a comfort-focused, practical formula rather than a complicated or flashy one, which should appeal if you want a straightforward used SUV.

Its standard safety equipment and everyday-oriented design add to its appeal for used buyers who want confidence and low drama in ownership. For long-term ownership, the main risk is paying a premium for a used example that may still hold its value well.

What is the 2025 Toyota Highlander's resale value?

The current average of $57,123 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,931 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy with less pressure today. If you plan to sell later, the Highlander's strong reputation for reliability and resale value should still support demand, even if current prices are not at their peak. For a future seller, the key advantage is that this model tends to remain desirable among family-SUV shoppers.

Should I buy a 2025 Toyota Highlander or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 40% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.39% compared with last year.

The bottom line: If you want the latest used Highlander in this range and value a favourable market, the 2025 is a sensible place to start. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may give you a lower entry point while still delivering the same core Highlander strengths.
