CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Subaru WRX
Summary
With 158 currently listed for sale and an average price of $42,031 CAD, 33.5% of 2025 Subaru WRX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Subaru WRX 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Subaru WRX stands out because it keeps the formula that made the nameplate famous: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a focus on driving enjoyment. It is a sedan-only performance car based on the Subaru Global Platform, and it still offers a six-speed manual transmission for buyers who want a more involved experience. For 2025, the WRX also adds a more performance-focused edge with the WRX tS trim, which brings a Brembo braking system, 19-inch alloy wheels, Recaro sport seats, and retuned suspension settings for increased performance.
Even in its more mainstream trims, the 2025 WRX is well equipped for a sporty compact sedan. The lineup includes features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and higher trims add larger touchscreens, Subaru’s EyeSight driver assistance suite, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist. The WRX GT and WRX tS also use adaptive dampers, which broadens the car’s appeal for buyers who want sharper handling without giving up everyday usability. Fuel economy is not a strong point, though, and the WRX remains a car that prioritises performance over efficiency.

Great car! Lots of fun to drive. It’s the Premium trim, lowest of the trim, but it has everything you need that makes sense. Higher trims have a other nice features, but one can really do without. Premium is the best choice for the value in my own opinion.

Is the 2025 Subaru WRX a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Subaru WRX earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. It keeps the formula that made the name famous: a turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. It is also a sedan-only performance car, so you get a more focused shape than earlier WRX generations that came in other body styles. For you, that means the WRX still fits well if you want an enthusiast car that can also serve as a practical daily driver. The market shows 32.9% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Subaru WRX reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 WRX’s appeal comes from a familiar, proven formula: a turbocharged Subaru Boxer engine and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Its strengths also include fun-to-drive handling and the kind of all-weather capability that helps it work as a daily driver. At the same time, it still carries familiar drawbacks such as outdated technology and poor fuel economy.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the WRX’s performance focus can make it less forgiving if you want low running costs and a more modern tech experience.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru WRX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 152 listings available.
Should I buy a 2025 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the WRX’s core appeal — standard all-wheel drive, a turbocharged Boxer engine, and a sedan-only performance setup — the 2025 is the straightforward choice. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may be worth considering, especially if you are focused on finding the best deal rather than the newest version.
