CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Subaru WRX
Summary
With 157 currently listed for sale and an average price of $40,920 CAD, 31.8% of 2025 Subaru WRX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2025 Subaru WRX 5 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Subaru WRX stands out because it keeps the formula that made the nameplate famous: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a focus on driving enjoyment. It is a sedan-only performance car based on the Subaru Global Platform, and it still offers a six-speed manual transmission for buyers who want a more involved experience. For 2025, the WRX also adds a more performance-focused edge with the WRX tS trim, which brings a Brembo braking system, 19-inch alloy wheels, Recaro sport seats, and retuned suspension settings for increased performance.
Even in its more mainstream trims, the 2025 WRX is well equipped for a sporty compact sedan. The lineup includes features such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and higher trims add larger touchscreens, Subaru’s EyeSight driver assistance suite, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist. The WRX GT and WRX tS also use adaptive dampers, which broadens the car’s appeal for buyers who want sharper handling without giving up everyday usability. Fuel economy is not a strong point, though, and the WRX remains a car that prioritises performance over efficiency.

Great car! Lots of fun to drive. It’s the Premium trim, lowest of the trim, but it has everything you need that makes sense. Higher trims have a other nice features, but one can really do without. Premium is the best choice for the value in my own opinion.

Is the 2025 Subaru WRX a good car?
Yes — the 2025 Subaru WRX is a good car if you want a sedan-only performance model that keeps the formula that made the nameplate famous: a turbocharged Boxer engine, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, and a focus on driving enjoyment. It also still offers a six-speed manual transmission, which makes it especially appealing if you want a more involved driving experience. For 2025, the WRX tS adds a more performance-focused edge with Brembo brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels, Recaro sport seats, and retuned suspension settings. 5/5. The market also shows 33.5% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Subaru WRX reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2025 WRX’s appeal comes from a familiar performance formula: turbocharged power, standard all-wheel drive, and a layout that prioritises driving enjoyment. It also includes everyday equipment such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with higher trims adding Subaru’s EyeSight driver assistance suite, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane change assist. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that this is still a performance-first car, so you should expect higher running costs than a more efficiency-focused compact sedan.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Subaru WRX?
The market looks moderate, so you can be selective rather than rushed.
- Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 155 listings available.
Should I buy a 2025 Subaru WRX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: If you want the latest version of the WRX formula with the added appeal of the tS trim, the 2025 is the one to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby model year may be the better path, especially if you can find a well-priced example with the equipment you want.
