How much does the 2025 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 12.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.2/10 expert rating, which points to strong appeal for heavy-duty shoppers. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is built for buyers who need serious capability, whether that means hauling loads, heading off-road, or using the truck as a workhorse. It also brings increasing levels of luxury and refinement, so you are not limited to a bare-bones heavy-duty pickup if you want more polish.

The trade-offs are clear: advanced safety features are not standard, and it gets expensive fast. Even so, the combination of strength and refinement makes it a strong fit if capability is your top priority.

With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 RAM 2500 is presented as a truck with immense capability, and the expert assessment reinforces that it is built for demanding work rather than light-duty convenience. Its revised diesel powertrain and heavy-duty hardware point to a model designed to handle serious towing and hauling duties.

The performance notes also describe the diesel as a well-regarded engine, which is a positive sign for buyers who plan to use the truck hard. If you are shopping used, the main long-term ownership risk is that repair and upkeep costs can rise quickly on a truck this capable and complex.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tradesman is the most basic version, with cheap-looking black plastic up front, while the Big Horn adds a more polished look. The Power Wagon and Rebel bring a premium black front end with unique grille designs, and the Laramie is where the luxury features really start to appear. If you want the best value, the Laramie is the trim that most clearly balances equipment and price.
• Powertrain: The standard engine is a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with an eight-speed automatic, while the heavily revised turbocharged 6.7-litre Cummins inline-six is the diesel choice and now comes in High Output form with 430 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. The diesel is the standout if you need maximum towing muscle.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking are standard, but park assist sensors are not included on the base Tradesman. The optional Safety Group adds adaptive steering, active lane management, automatic high beams, drowsy driver detection, and rain-sensing wipers, and those features are standard on higher trims.
• Infotainment: An 8.4-inch touchscreen comes standard on the two lowest trims, while a 12-inch unit is standard on the Power Wagon, Rebel and Laramie. A 14.4-inch screen is available on the upper trims, and Ram also offers a passenger screen, a 12.3-inch digital cluster starting at Laramie, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Level 2 Equipment Group.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert data does not provide a fuel-consumption figure.

Which 2025 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2025 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Power Wagon, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, and it makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and plan to add the equipment you need. It is also the trim where the Safety Group matters most, since park assist sensors are not standard here.
• Big Horn: This trim adds a more polished appearance than the Tradesman and is a sensible step up if you want a nicer-looking truck without jumping too far in price.
• Power Wagon: This is the off-road specialist, with electronic locking front and rear differentials and a disconnecting sway bar. It is the best choice if trail ability matters more than towing-focused versatility.
• Rebel: This is the better pick if you want off-road capability but still need to tow heavy loads regularly. It is less extreme than the Power Wagon, but more balanced for mixed use.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it is where the luxury features really start to show up, including leather seating surfaces, a 12-inch touchscreen, and a 12.3-inch digital cluster.
• Limited Longhorn: This is the luxury-focused choice, with a cowboy-themed interior and the most upscale presentation in the range.

The Safety Group is the key trim-level safety note to watch for on lower trims, since it adds several important driver-assistance features that are standard higher up.

• Inventory: There are 337 listings available.

What is the 2025 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $79,179 CAD sits slightly below last year's $90,889 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can put some pressure on future resale values if supply stays healthy. For a seller, it means you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if your truck is not especially well equipped or has higher mileage.

On the other hand, the 2025 RAM 2500 still has strong appeal because it is a capability-first truck with a refined feel, and that helps support demand in the used market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ram says the diesel now comes standard in High Output spec, making this year a notable upgrade.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a few noteworthy changes and an intriguing new pair of trim levels.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, proven capability, and a meaningful 2025 update, this is the year to target. If you are price-sensitive, keep an eye on older examples, but the 2025 is the better path when you want the latest heavy-duty hardware and a more refined feel.
