Used 2025 Nissan Altima for Sale nearBarrie, ON

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Nissan Altima earns 5/5 from owners and 6.17/10 from CarGurus experts. The standout strength is Form and function at 8/10.

It stands out mainly as one of the few remaining midsize sedans trying to hold attention in a market dominated by compact crossover SUVs. In Canada, it adds standard AWD, which gives you extra all-weather confidence if you want a sedan instead of a crossover. It also leans on stylish design, comfortable front seats, and easy-to-use technology.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, the interior materials feel cheap, and the technology is outdated. Even so, if you want a midsize sedan with standard AWD and a comfort-first feel, it still has a defined role.

31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Altima is presented as a straightforward, familiar sedan rather than a complicated one, and its standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine and CVT keep the mechanical formula simple. It also delivers real-world fuel efficiency that matches the official rating from Natural Resources Canada, which is a useful sign for day-to-day ownership planning.

Nissan also includes a practical maintenance perk in the ownership experience: the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s age and modest execution may leave you wanting more refinement or modernity over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum. The base trims are missing some worthwhile features, while SR Premium adds a more upscale cabin and better equipment.
• Powertrain: Every Canadian Altima uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with standard AWD and a CVT. It is tuned for calm, everyday driving rather than excitement.
• Safety package: Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SR Premium adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, which combines adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centring assist. Platinum also adds a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The S and SR use an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. SR Premium and Platinum upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, and navigation.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima AWD should burn 8.2 L/100 km in S trim and 8.4 L/100 km in other trims in combined driving.

Which 2025 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2025 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the lowest entry price and standard AWD. It gives you the core Altima formula, but you’ll be living with the basic infotainment setup and fewer comfort upgrades.
• SR: This is the sportier-looking choice, with 19-inch wheels and sport-bolstered front seats. It makes sense if you want a little more style without moving too far up the price ladder.
• SR Premium: This is the best-value trim. It adds the better 12.3-inch infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, NissanConnect services, navigation, the nine-speaker Bose audio system, and ProPilot Assist 1.0.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Altima, including the surround-view camera system and the same upgraded tech and audio hardware as SR Premium.

Choosing the SR Premium trim level is also your ticket to the best safety features available for the Altima.

Is the 2025 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2025 Nissan Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, including a five-star rollover resistance rating. It also gets a Poor rating in recently updated IIHS evaluations related to side impact protection and front crash prevention, and a Marginal rating in an updated moderate offset frontal-impact test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Nissan Safety Shield 360 is standard on every Altima, and it includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, automatic rear braking, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. SR Premium adds ProPilot Assist 1.0, which brings adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability and lane-centring assist, while Platinum adds a surround-view camera system.

One caveat to keep in mind is that the automatic rear braking system is too sensitive and can make parking in tight spaces more difficult.

Should I buy a 2025 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Nissan adds an SR Premium trim to renew interest and improve the tech story.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It offers value, standard AWD in Canada, and an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims.

The bottom line: If you want the newest Altima with the refreshed Canadian trim walk and you’re focused on comfort, standard AWD, and straightforward ownership, the 2025 is the better pick. If you’re mainly shopping on price and want a familiar sedan formula, the 2024 remains a sensible alternative.
