Used 2025 Mazda CX-5 for Sale near Alberta

How much does the 2025 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 10.39% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 756 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — you get a 5/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

The CX-5 is aimed at you if you want practicality without giving up driving enjoyment, and it delivers that in an attractive, upscale package. Its stylish design, fun-to-drive character, and premium interior materials are the main reasons it continues to appeal.

The main trade-offs are rear-seat space and cargo capacity, plus fuel economy that trails many rivals. Even so, the driving experience is engaging enough that those compromises may be acceptable if you value feel and refinement over maximum utility.

With 39.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is decent market flexibility if you are shopping carefully.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-5’s appeal is reinforced by its refined cabin, standard advanced safety equipment, and the sense that it has been steadily improved rather than repeatedly reinvented. The expert assessment also notes that the systems operated as they should during testing, with no false alarms or technical glitches.

Its performance hardware is straightforward, with a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive across the range, which can be a plus for durability-minded shoppers who prefer proven components. If you are buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the same strengths that make it enjoyable can also mean higher running costs if fuel economy matters to you.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The entry trim gives you keyless entry and heated front seats, while the GS adds dual-zone climate control and synthetic leather seat upholstery. If you want the most premium feel, the Turbo models bring genuine leather upholstery and upgraded trim elements.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 187 horsepower and a Turbo model with 256 hp and 320 lb-ft of torque. Both use a six-speed automatic and standard all-wheel drive, and the Turbo is the stronger match if you want more confidence and easier passing power.
• Safety package: All trims include forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. The GT adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, and Cruise & Traffic Assist, while the Turbo Signature adds a 360-degree camera, a driver attention monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 10.25-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a dial-based controller. Wireless phone integration appears in the midrange Premium Plus trim, which also adds a wireless charging pad, and the Premium Plus and above include a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is estimated at 10.2 L/100 km city, 8.2 highway, and 9.3 combined, or 9.1 city, 7.7 highway, and 8.5 combined with cylinder deactivation on some trims. The Turbo engine is rated at 10.8 city, 8.7 highway, and 9.8 combined.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the value starting point if you want the CX-5’s core strengths at the lowest entry cost, including keyless entry, heated front seats, standard all-wheel drive, and the basic safety suite.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds dual-zone climate control and synthetic leather seat upholstery without pushing you into the pricier Turbo models.
• GT: This is the trim to target if you want a more upscale daily driver, thanks to adaptive headlights, a head-up display, and Cruise & Traffic Assist.
• Premium Plus: This is the sweet spot for tech-focused buyers, since it adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, and a head-up display.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Mazda CX-5?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 756 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.39% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,475 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $33,475 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,358 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The CX-5’s premium feel and strong driving character should help it remain appealing to used buyers who value style and enjoyment. Its broad appeal is supported by steady demand, especially among shoppers who want a more engaging compact SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The 2025 Mazda CX-5 earns five-star ratings in all NHTSA evaluations except rollover protection, where it receives a four-star rating. It scores well in IIHS crash tests, but its standard collision avoidance system, Smart City Brake Support Front, receives a Poor rating.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

All CX-5 trim levels come standard with forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. The GT trim adds adaptive headlights, a head-up display, and Cruise & Traffic Assist, while the Turbo Signature adds a 360-degree camera, a driver attention monitor, and front and rear parking sensors.

That Poor IIHS result is the main safety caveat to keep in mind, even though the rest of the safety package is broad and well-rounded.

Should I buy a 2025 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 39.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.39% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It blends sporty driving with an upscale cabin.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,685 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $33,475 CAD average.
• It feels polished, practical, and enjoyable to drive.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a full redesign with more space and more technology.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, style, and driving enjoyment, the 2025 is the safest all-round pick. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play. If you want a newer design and more tech, the 2026 is the better direction, but it changes the formula more substantially.
