CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Lexus RX
Summary
- With 232 currently listed for sale and an average price of $60,719 CAD, 30.6% of 2025 Lexus RX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that puts comfort, refinement, and reliability ahead of flashier ambitions. Lexus has long positioned the RX as a mainstream choice for buyers who want a premium experience without the higher price tags of some European rivals, and that formula still defines it. It is also part of a model line with a strong reputation for holding its value, which helps explain why it remains such a popular used buy.
For 2025, the RX continues with a focus on efficiency and technology. The RX 350 uses a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, while the RX 350h hybrid is the efficiency leader at 6.5 L/100 km combined. The RX 500h shifts the emphasis toward performance with 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and the RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid offers an estimated 60 kilometres of electric-only range. Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the range, along with blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear occupant alert, and safe exit assist.
What makes the 2025 RX especially appealing is how well it balances everyday usability with upscale ownership appeal. Handling remains tuned more for comfort than sport, and even the sportier versions are not especially athletic, while the F Sport suspension can hurt ride comfort without delivering much of a handling payoff. Still, the RX’s combination of refinement, strong fuel economy for the class, standard safety equipment, and Lexus reliability makes it a compelling choice for buyers who value a calm, well-rounded luxury SUV over a more aggressive one.

How much does the 2025 Lexus RX cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $60,669 CAD |
| Year-Round Low | $60,093 CAD |
| Year-Round High | $68,977 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $69,006 CAD |
| Change vs. Last Year | −12.08% |
Prices have softened 12.08% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.
There are 227 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2025 Lexus RX a good car?
The 2025 Lexus RX is a strong choice if you want a luxury SUV that prioritises comfort, refinement, and reliability over flashier ambitions. It is positioned as a mainstream premium option for buyers who want an upscale experience without the higher price tags of some European rivals, and it also has a reputation for holding its value.
It is especially appealing if you value everyday usability, strong fuel economy for the class, and a calm, well-rounded ownership experience. The RX’s combination of refinement and practical luxury makes it a compelling fit for shoppers who care more about comfort than aggressive driving dynamics.
With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2025 Lexus RX reliable?
The 2025 Lexus RX is presented as a comfort-first luxury SUV with a strong reputation for reliability. Lexus has long built the RX around refinement and trouble-free ownership, and that remains a core part of its appeal.
For used buyers, that generally points to lower long-term ownership risk than you might expect from a luxury SUV, especially if you want a model that is more about dependable daily use than high-strung performance.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Lexus RX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 227 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $60,093 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Lexus RX's resale value?
The current average of $60,669 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,006 CAD.
That price movement suggests the RX has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than owners saw a year ago. Even so, the RX’s reputation for holding its value should help support resale better than many luxury SUVs. If you buy well now, you may still have a relatively strong exit position later.
Should I buy a 2025 Lexus RX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 12.08% compared with last year.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $55,507 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $60,669 CAD average.
- It focuses on comfort and refinement.
The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the stronger current-market value story and are comfortable shopping a more expensive year. If you are price-sensitive, the 2024 is the better path because it delivers the RX’s core comfort-first appeal for less money.
