CarGurus Analysis: 2025 Lexus RX
Summary
- With 235 currently listed for sale and an average price of $61,003 CAD, 29.8% of 2025 Lexus RX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Why it stands out
The 2025 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that puts comfort, refinement, and reliability ahead of flashier ambitions. Lexus has long positioned the RX as a mainstream choice in its luxury lineup, and this generation continues that approach with standard all-wheel drive in Canada, a broad range of powertrain choices, and a strong emphasis on safety equipment. It also benefits from Lexus’s reputation for strong resale values, which helps explain why the RX remains a popular used buy even when it costs more than some rivals.
What makes the 2025 model especially distinctive is how much variety it offers without losing its core character. The RX 350 uses a 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, while the RX 350h hybrid uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder hybrid setup and is the fuel efficiency leader at 6.5 L/100 km combined. The RX 500h shifts the focus towards performance with 366 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque, and the RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid adds an estimated 60 kilometres of electric-only range. Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the range, along with blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, rear occupant alert, and safe exit assist.
There are trade-offs, though. The RX’s handling remains tuned more for comfort than excitement, and even the sportier versions are not especially sporty. The F Sport suspension also hurts ride comfort for only modest handling gains. Still, for buyers who want a quiet, well-equipped luxury SUV with strong efficiency options and a reputation for durability, the 2025 Lexus RX is appealing precisely because it stays true to what has made the nameplate successful.

Is the 2025 Lexus RX a good car?
The 2025 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that puts comfort, refinement, and reliability ahead of flashier ambitions. It is a mainstream choice in Lexus’s luxury lineup, with standard all-wheel drive in Canada, a broad range of powertrain choices, and a strong emphasis on safety equipment.
That makes it a strong fit if you want a quiet, well-equipped luxury SUV with efficiency options and a reputation for durability. The market also reflects healthy interest, with 32.7% of listings priced as good or great deals.
Is the 2025 Lexus RX reliable?
The 2025 Lexus RX stands out as a luxury SUV that puts comfort, refinement, and reliability ahead of flashier ambitions. Lexus has long positioned the RX as a mainstream choice in its luxury lineup, and this generation continues that approach with standard all-wheel drive in Canada and a strong emphasis on safety equipment.
For used buyers, that reputation can reduce long-term ownership risk if you want a premium SUV that is more about dependable everyday use than excitement.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Lexus RX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.
- Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 217 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.18% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $60,075 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2025 Lexus RX's resale value?
The current average of $61,588 CAD sits slightly below last year's $69,337 CAD.
That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, because you may be entering at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, though, it suggests there is less room for appreciation than there was a year ago. Even so, the RX’s reputation for durability and strong demand should help it remain relatively resilient compared with many luxury SUVs.
Should I buy a 2025 Lexus RX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2025 if:
- 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.18% compared with last year.
Consider the 2024 if:
- At $55,677 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $61,588 CAD average.
- It is comfortable, refined, and easy to live with.
The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-market value, inventory choice, and the latest model-year pricing context, the 2025 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2024 is the smarter price-sensitive alternative.
