Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport a good car?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport earns a 7/10 from our experts.

The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It fits you best if you want a slimmer, more road-focused alternative to the traditional Range Rover with strong styling and a more athletic driving character. The trade-offs are clear: the technology is unintuitive, and it is poor value for money compared with other midsize luxury SUVs.

With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport reliable?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is presented as a premium SUV with a four-year/80,000-kilometre new-vehicle warranty and complimentary roadside assistance over the same period.

Its performance hardware is broad and sophisticated, with multiple powertrains, standard four-wheel drive, and a calm, confident demeanour that also contributes to a luxurious ride at normal speeds. Land Rover’s Terrain Response system, hill descent control, and ascent control add to its all-weather and off-road credibility.

The base six-cylinder powertrain is rated at 11.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined, while the V8 rises to 12.6 L/100 km combined and the SV Edition Two to 13.1 L/100 km combined. Plug-in hybrids offer 85 kilometres of electric range and 11.0 L/100 km combined after that.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the model’s high purchase price and complex hardware can make repairs and upkeep expensive if anything goes wrong.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup includes Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two. The base trim gets the core luxury look and standard driver-assistance suite, while higher trims add more power and more specialised hardware. The SV Edition Two stands apart with carbon-fibre details, available 23-inch carbon-fibre wheels, and a more extreme performance focus.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six, plug-in hybrid versions based on that engine, and a BMW-sourced twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8. The V8 and base inline-six also have mild-hybrid assistance, and the SV Edition Two uses the V8 with 626 hp.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor. The standard 360-degree camera system helps with parking, and the Autobiography trim uniquely adds a two-speed transfer case with low range.
• Infotainment: You get a 13.7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.1-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa integration. The minimalist layout means many functions live in the touchscreen, which may not suit you if you prefer physical controls.
• Fuel efficiency: The base six-cylinder is rated at 11.1 litres per 100 kilometres combined, the V8 at 12.6 L/100 km combined, the SV Edition Two at 13.1 L/100 km combined, and plug-in hybrids at 11.0 L/100 km combined after the battery is depleted.

Which 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport trim should I buy?

The 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport is offered in 4 trim levels: Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography, and SV Edition Two.

Here's the short version:

• Dynamic SE: This is the entry point and the best-value starting place if you want the Range Rover Sport’s styling, standard all-wheel capability, and full driver-assistance suite without chasing the highest sticker price.
• Dynamic HSE: This is the trim to consider if you want a step up in equipment and are willing to pay more for a richer luxury experience.
• Autobiography: This is the one to choose if you want the strongest blend of luxury and capability, especially because it can be paired with the plug-in hybrid and is the only trim with a two-speed transfer case and low range.
• SV Edition Two: This is the performance flagship, with 626 hp, carbon-fibre details, and the most extreme hardware in the lineup.

The standard safety package starts on the base SE trim, so you do not need to move up the range to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 96 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $116,276 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport's resale value?

The current average of $116,538 CAD sits slightly below last year's $124,404 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you should expect the Range Rover Sport to face some depreciation pressure unless demand strengthens. For now, the current pricing trend gives you a better entry point than last year’s market.

Is the 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard driver-assist suite includes automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention monitor.

The standard 360-degree camera system helps with parking, and the digital rearview mirror can improve visibility. The main caveat is that the parking sensors are described as overly sensitive, and the tall hood can make forward visibility more difficult.

Should I buy a 2025 Land Rover Range Rover Sport or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.32% compared with last year.
• It gives you the same stylish, sporty Range Rover Sport formula with minimal changes from the previous model year.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It adds a more extreme SV Carbon version with even more performance focus.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the current shape of the Range Rover Sport at a softer price and are comfortable shopping selectively. If you are price-sensitive, the 2025 is the better path; if you want the newest and most extreme version of the formula, look to the 2026.
