How much does the 2025 Honda Pilot cost?

Prices have softened 11.85% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 152 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Pilot earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 6.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth ride, spacious interior, and plenty of cargo space. Comfortable seating and a strong sense of security from the safety ratings also come up again and again.

The trade-offs are familiar: the technology can feel dated, and some shoppers want more luxury features in the lower trims. That said, the Pilot’s roomy, practical layout and easy daily livability make sense if you want a family hauler that prioritises space and confidence over flash.

With 36.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s a meaningful share of the market worth a closer look.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Review feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers repeatedly highlighting the Pilot as a vehicle they can count on for everyday use. The expert evaluation also describes it as a straightforward, easy-to-live-with SUV that keeps the formula simple with a single powertrain and standard all-wheel drive in Canada.

Honda’s warranty coverage is average, so long-term ownership risk is more about accepting ordinary maintenance and the model’s modest tech shortcomings than worrying about major complexity.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport is affordable but light on appealing amenities, while the EX-L is the minimum upgrade recommended for a more satisfying cabin. The Black Edition adds blacked-out exterior trim, black wheels, black badges, black leather seats with red perforation accents, red contrast stitching, and red ambient lighting.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with a 10-speed automatic transmission and 285 horsepower. Every Canadian Pilot comes with i-VTM4 AWD, hill descent control, and up to 18.5 cm of ground clearance, with the TrailSport getting 21 cm.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. Parking sensors and a multi-view camera system are included on the Black Edition test vehicle.
• Infotainment: The Black Edition has a 10.2-inch digital gauge panel and a 9-inch touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, text-messaging support, wireless charging, navigation, HondaLink, Wi-Fi access, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system are available.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel economy is not impressive, with the evaluation loop returning 14.1 L/100 km and city-heavy driving reaching 15.9 L/100 km. NRCan estimates 11.0 L/100 km combined for lower trims and 11.8 for the TrailSport.

Which 2025 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Pilot is offered in 5 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring, and Black Edition.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it is light on appealing amenities, so it makes sense mainly if you want the lowest-cost way into the Pilot lineup.
• EX-L: This is the best-value choice because it adds the leather-lined upgrade the review recommends at a minimum, making the cabin feel more complete without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you want the most rugged version of the Pilot, since Honda says it adds off-roading capability.
• Touring: This trim suits you if you want a more upscale, better-equipped Pilot without going all the way to the Black Edition.
• Black Edition: This is the style-focused top trim, with blacked-out exterior details, red interior accents, and the most distinctive look in the lineup.

Honda’s safety package is standard across the range, so you do not need to move up a trim just to get the core driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Pilot?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 152 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.85% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $54,149 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $54,149 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,430 CAD.

That softer pricing can be good news if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. A used Pilot that is priced well and presented cleanly should still attract interest, especially because the model’s practicality and family-friendly layout remain easy to explain to shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Pilot safe?

The 2025 Honda Pilot earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS and a five-star overall rating from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on every version and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control. The Black Edition test vehicle also had parking sensors and a multi-view camera system.

There are some caveats to keep in mind. The adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assist did not always behave smoothly in testing, and the road sign recognition system regularly showed inaccurate information.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.85% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Pilot’s simple single-powertrain formula and standard AWD in Canada.

Consider the 2026 if:

• It brings a brawnier, more truck-like look while keeping the same family-focused formula.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the better-value used buy and are comfortable with its dated tech and average fuel economy. If you are price-sensitive, the 2025 is especially appealing right now because softened pricing and decent inventory give you room to negotiate.
