How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 8.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 725 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It’s a strong fit if you want an affordable sedan or hatchback that still feels engaging to drive. The 2025 refresh is subtle but meaningful, and the gas-only lineup is easier to navigate if you’re choosing between an everyday commuter and a more enthusiast-leaning version.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual misses some user-friendly features.

With 28.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Civic is presented as a refined update to an already well-regarded compact car, and Honda’s changes to the structure and driver-assistance systems point to a model that’s been carefully improved rather than reinvented. The expert review also highlights smooth operation and a well-rounded everyday character.

The performance content also points to a forgiving, user-friendly driving experience, especially for shoppers who want a car that’s easy to live with day to day.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is that some of the more engaging features are paired with a few usability compromises, so condition and feature set matter.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The gas-only Civic lineup is split between LX, Sport, and the Civic Si, and the base trims are more basic than the Si in both styling and equipment.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and a CVT, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics, with improved collision-mitigation braking, smoother adaptive cruise control, and updated lane-keeping assist; the lane-keep system can still feel a bit aggressive.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, while the Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone projection, Alexa Built-In, Google Built-In, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 7.3 L/100 km city, 5.7 highway, and 6.6 combined, while the Civic Si is rated at 8.7 L/100 km city, 6.4 highway, and 7.7 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused choice if you want the most affordable gas Civic and the best fuel economy in the lineup.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a step up from the LX without moving into the enthusiast-focused Si.
• Civic Si: This is the best-value trim for driving enthusiasts, with the manual transmission, stronger performance, and the richest tech content in the gas-only range.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you get the core safety package no matter which trim you choose.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 725 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,476 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $29,516 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,332 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The current trend suggests the Civic is holding value reasonably well, but not aggressively appreciating.

Because the model still has broad appeal and strong demand from shoppers who want an efficient, engaging compact car, resale should remain supported by steady interest.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the suite includes improved collision-mitigation braking, smoother adaptive cruise control, and updated lane-keeping assist. The system is designed to better detect bicycles and motorcycles, and it also improves visibility of cross traffic from either side.

One caveat is that lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive, with steering-wheel vibration that may bother some drivers.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 28.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda’s 2025 refresh adds subtle but meaningful updates and expands the gas-only lineup clarity.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,575 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $29,516 CAD average.
• It’s an affordable performance compact with a manual transmission and enthusiast focus.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $32,520 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $29,516 CAD average.
• It carries over unchanged with premium interior materials and broad model variety.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price movement, current-market availability, and updated safety and tech, the 2025 is the primary pick. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the smarter value play; if you want the newest carryover version and don’t mind paying more, the 2026 remains a solid alternative.
