Used 2025 Honda Civic for Sale near South Dakota

How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 8.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 719 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.67/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The Civic’s appeal is its balance of everyday usability and driver involvement, with a fun-to-drive character and a manual transmission available for shoppers who want a more engaging experience. Google Built-In is another useful advantage, especially if you value modern in-car tech.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available, lane-keeping assist can be irritating, and the manual misses some user-friendly features.

Good and great deals account for 29.1% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Civic is presented as a well-sorted compact car with a strong everyday balance, and Honda’s updates for this model year aim to improve usability and driver-assistance behaviour. The expert review also highlights smoother operation from the updated adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist systems, along with improved collision-mitigation braking that can better detect bicycles and motorcycles.

The Civic Si’s powertrain is described as forgiving and user-friendly, with a light clutch and agreeable shifter action that should help reduce day-to-day wear from awkward operation. Honda also notes that the first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some of the manual-transmission convenience features are missing, so you should make sure the car suits your driving habits.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The LX is the most affordable gas Civic, while the Sport adds a higher price and the Si brings the sportiest look and feel. The base car gets LED headlights and daytime running lights, darker taillights, and a new paint colour for 2025, but the Si stands out with a honeycomb grille texture, red interior accents, red seats, and a dedicated 18-inch wheel design. If you want the most engaging version, the Si is the one to focus on.
• Powertrain: The LX and Sport use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine with 150 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque, paired with a CVT. The Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque, plus a six-speed manual. All Civic gas models are front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics. It includes an improved collision-mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The system is updated for smoother operation, but lane-keeping assist can still feel overly assertive.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 7 inches, while the Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen. The Si also adds Alexa Built-In, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 12-speaker Bose Premium sound system. Lower trims get wired smartphone projection.
• Fuel efficiency: The LX is rated at 7.3 L/100 km city, 5.7 highway, and 6.6 combined. The Sport is rated at 6.8 L/100 km combined. The Si is rated at 8.7 L/100 km city, 6.4 highway, and 7.7 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value pick if you want the lowest entry price and the best fuel economy in the gas lineup. It gives you the core Civic experience without the extra cost of the sportier trims.
• Sport: Choose this if you want a step up in price and equipment without going all the way to the Si. It suits you if you want a more dressed-up Civic but do not need the manual-only performance focus.
• Civic Si: This is the best-value trim for enthusiasts. It adds the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, larger touchscreen, Bose audio, wireless smartphone projection, Google Built-In, and the digital instrument cluster, making it the clear choice if you want the most complete gas Civic.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but lane-keeping assist can still feel a bit aggressive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 719 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.88% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,478 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $29,535 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,415 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the current average, you are starting from a lower baseline than last year’s sellers did.

For a future seller, that means resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim desirability. Well-equipped versions should hold attention better than plain examples, especially if they are clean and well maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and the system includes an improved collision-mitigation braking system, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The updates are meant to improve smoothness and detection, including better recognition of bicycles and motorcycles.

A caveat to keep in mind is that lane-keeping assist can still feel overly aggressive with its corrections, so you should test it on your own route before buying.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 29.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda has sharpened the Civic’s safety and tech with a mid-cycle refresh.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,613 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $29,535 CAD average.
• It offers an enthusiast-focused manual Civic Si with strong value.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $32,467 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $29,535 CAD average.
• It carries over the refreshed Civic formula with broader body-style and powertrain choice.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of updated safety, tech, and market pricing, the 2025 is the primary choice. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 is worth a look; if you want to pay more for a newer carryover, the 2026 remains a sensible alternative.
