How much does the 2025 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 8.76% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2025 Honda Civic earns a 4.7/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

The 2025 Civic is a practical choice that now offers more variety in how it is configured, and it remains aimed at shoppers who want an affordable sedan or hatchback with a more engaging driving character. The Civic Si is especially appealing if you want a fun-to-drive compact car, and Google Built-In adds a modern tech touch.

Trade-offs include all-wheel drive not being available, lane-keeping assist that can be irritating, and a manual transmission that lacks some user-friendly features.

With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to find a strong-value example.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Honda’s updates for 2025 include improved collision-mitigation braking, smoother adaptive cruise control behaviour, and a lane-keeping assist system that is tuned for smoother performance. The Civic also benefits from a refreshed lineup that keeps the formula familiar while adding more breadth.

The performance side is reassuring too: the base engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder, and the Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with a manual transmission. That mix points to a car built for everyday use with enough mechanical simplicity in the base model to support long-term ownership confidence.

For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that the Civic Si’s enthusiast focus can make condition and maintenance history especially important.

What should I look for when buying a used 2025 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si adds a sportier look with a honeycomb grille texture, red interior accents, red seats, and a dedicated 18-inch matte black wheel design. Base trims are more restrained, so if you want the most distinctive styling and the richer cabin presentation, the Si is the one to inspect closely.
• Powertrain: The base Civic uses a 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 150 horsepower and a CVT, while the Civic Si uses a turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and a six-speed manual. Every Civic is front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all Civics, with improved collision-mitigation braking, smoother adaptive cruise control, and updated lane-keeping assist. The system is standard across the lineup.
• Infotainment: A 7-inch touchscreen is standard, while the Civic Si gets a 9-inch touchscreen, Alexa Built-In, Google Built-In, wireless smartphone projection, and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster.
• Fuel efficiency: The base Civic LX is rated at 7.3 L/100 km city, 5.7 highway, and 6.6 combined. The Civic Si is rated at 8.7 L/100 km city, 6.4 highway, and 7.7 combined.

Which 2025 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2025 Honda Civic is offered in 3 trim levels: LX, Sport, and Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the value-focused choice if you want the most affordable gas Civic and the best fuel economy in the lineup. It suits you if you want a straightforward daily driver with standard Honda Sensing and the core Civic formula.
• Sport: This trim adds a bit more equipment and a higher price, but the available information points to the LX as the better-value pick for most shoppers.
• Civic Si: This is the enthusiast choice, with the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, stronger performance, and the richest tech and cabin presentation. It is the trim to buy if driving enjoyment matters most.

Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, so you do not need to move up a trim for the core safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 Honda Civic?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 792 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,053 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $29,053 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,843 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a little more favourable for buyers, which can make future resale more competitive for sellers. If you buy now, you may be entering at a better value point than owners did a year ago.

For a future seller, that means pricing discipline will matter. A well-kept Civic with the right trim and equipment should still attract attention, but the current trend shows buyers have more leverage than they did last year.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2025 Honda Civic safe?

The 2025 Honda Civic Hatchback and the 2025 Honda Civic Sedan have earned Top Safety Pick+ awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard on all 2025 Civics, and it includes improved collision-mitigation braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist. The system also benefits from better detection of bicycles and motorcycles, plus improved cross-traffic visibility support.

One caveat is that lane-keep assist can still feel a bit aggressive, with steering-wheel vibration that may bother some drivers.

Should I buy a 2025 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.76% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Honda expands the powertrain lineup for the 11th generation, giving you more breadth while keeping the formula familiar.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,457 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $29,053 CAD average.
• It is an affordable performance compact sports sedan with a manual transmission and strong driving appeal.

Consider the 2026 if:

• At $32,619 CAD, the 2026 costs more than the current year's $29,053 CAD average.
• It carries over unchanged and still offers sedans, hatchbacks, hybrid options, and Si and Type R variants.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current-market value and updated equipment, the 2025 is the smart default. If your priority is spending less, the 2024 is the better price-sensitive path. If you want the newest carryover version and do not mind paying more, the 2026 is the alternative to watch.
