Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD is aimed at you if you want a heavy-duty pickup that feels more upscale than many rivals, with a broader range of trims and more luxury-oriented options and features. With 34.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 Sierra 2500HD is a heavy-duty truck with a premium focus, but you should still pay close attention to condition and maintenance history because used examples can be expensive to own. Reported issues include check engine lights, infotainment sluggishness, rough or delayed shifts, electrical glitches, MultiPro tailgate faults, and faulty trailer brake controllers, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 188 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $91,656 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $91,984 CAD sits slightly below last year's $102,856 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Because the truck still sits in a premium-heavy-duty niche, well-kept examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to market than stripped-down trucks. Strong condition and documented maintenance will matter a lot if you want to protect value later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 34.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $78,466 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $91,984 CAD average.
• It blends serious capability with a distinctly upscale feel.

The bottom line: If you want the newer truck and are shopping for value within the 2025 market, the current year is worth a close look. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2024 is the better price-sensitive path and still delivers the core heavy-duty appeal.
