Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. The 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD stands out for offering a heavy-duty pickup with a more upscale feel than many rivals, and it gives you a clear choice between refinement and rugged capability through its trim range. In Canada, you can shop it as a work-focused truck or move up to versions with premium audio, leather seats, and a surround-view monitor.

The market also shows 24.7% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to compare options carefully.

Is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD is described as a heavy-duty truck with broad convenience and technology content, but buyers should also be aware of reported issues with the MultiPro tailgate, check engine lights, rough shifting, infotainment and electrical glitches, and trailer brake controllers. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking service history closely and verifying that the truck’s key systems work as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 174 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.20% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $91,702 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $92,363 CAD sits slightly below last year's $102,859 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. For a seller, the current trend suggests you may need to price competitively to move the truck, especially if your example lacks the higher-end equipment buyers tend to seek. Well-equipped trims should still draw attention because this model’s upscale positioning helps it stand out in the heavy-duty segment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2025 GMC Sierra 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 24.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $78,928 CAD, the 2024 costs less than the current year's $92,363 CAD average.
• It adds the Denali Ultimate trim with maximum luxury and serious towing capability.

The bottom line: Choose the 2025 if you want the newer model-year pricing context and a broad mix of trims, features, and body styles. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2024 is the better value path, especially if you want a similarly upscale heavy-duty truck at a lower entry price.
