Is the 2025 BMW 4 Series a good car?

The 2025 BMW 4 Series stands out for blending premium equipment, strong performance, and a distinctive design that still turns heads. It shares much of its mechanical and interior hardware with the BMW 3 Series, but the 4 Series has a more muscular look and a less sedan-like profile, giving it a character of its own. For 2025, the facelift brought mild design tweaks, new interior trims, new exterior colour options, new steering wheel designs, revised LED headlights and taillights, and an updated mild-hybrid system that was added to the 430i.

It is also well equipped in standard form. The 430i and 430i xDrive include LED headlights, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, SensaTec upholstery, and a rear-view camera, while the M440i adds BMW M Sport extras. The range uses turbocharged engines, with the 430i producing 255 horsepower and the M440i xDrive making 382 horsepower, and an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. In Canada, all 4 Series cars sold by 2022 came with standard AWD, which adds to the car’s all-weather appeal.

The main trade-off is that the styling is not to everyone’s taste, and some versions are expensive. Even so, the 2025 BMW 4 Series remains appealing for you if you want a luxury coupe or convertible with a high-end cabin, plenty of technology, and strong driving performance.

36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2025 BMW 4 Series reliable?

The 2025 BMW 4 Series is presented as a well-equipped luxury model with proven turbocharged powertrains and standard automatic transmission, which supports confidence in everyday use. Its shared hardware with the BMW 3 Series and the availability of standard AWD in Canada also point to a familiar, broadly engineered package.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that premium features and performance-focused components can make repairs and upkeep more expensive than on a mainstream car.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2025 BMW 4 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you know what you want and are willing to compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 77 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.36% year-over-year.

If you find a listing below $59,030 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2025 BMW 4 Series's resale value?

The current average of $64,440 CAD sits slightly above last year's $61,163 CAD.

That upward move suggests the 2025 model year is holding value reasonably well in the used market. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in strong condition, you should have a decent chance of recovering a fair share of your outlay later. The fact that prices are still rising also means you may face firmer asking prices now, especially on well-equipped examples.

Should I buy a 2025 BMW 4 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2025 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2025 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices are up 5.36% year-over-year.

The bottom line: The 2025 is the better pick if you want the updated styling, revised interior touches, and the strongest current-market case for this model year. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may give you a similar luxury-coupe experience for less money, especially if you can find a well-kept example with the equipment you want.
