Used 2024 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2024 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 7.46% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 467 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Toyota Tacoma, and the expert score is 7.83/10. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The Tacoma’s appeal starts with its ground-up redesign, its new platform, and its standard turbocharged four-cylinder engine. It still leans into the qualities that have long defined it, including durability and off-road capability, while adding a more modern starting point and standard advanced driver-assistance tech.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the cabin is noisy, the manual-adjust seats can be troublesome, and the interior remains functional rather than especially plush, even in the top trim.

With 34.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Tacoma’s reputation for reliability remains a major draw, and the expert review reinforces that strength by calling out Toyota’s excellent reputation for reliability. The truck’s standard 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, standard 4WD in Canada, and newly standard electric power steering all point to a more modern mechanical foundation than the outgoing model.

The expert review also notes that Toyota has earned its reputation for longevity, which matters if you plan to keep the truck for years. Toyota’s first scheduled maintenance visit is on the house, which helps soften early ownership costs.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the Tacoma’s core durability and more about living with its noisy cabin and functional interior if you want a more refined daily driver.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The standard truck keeps a familiar Toyota truck look, while the TRD Off Road packages add 17-inch off-road alloys and the Premium packages bring heated and ventilated SofTex-trimmed seats plus a 14-inch centre display. The base setup is more workmanlike, so you should check whether the features you want are on the package you’re considering.
• Powertrain: The Tacoma is now all-turbo, all the time, with a 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 278 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. In Canada, 4WD is standard, and you can choose between an eight-speed automatic and a six-speed manual.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard and includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, emergency stop system, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The new electric power steering also supports additional driver-assistance features.
• Infotainment: The standard screen is 8 inches, while the Premium packages get a 14-inch centre display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and Toyota’s Audio Multimedia system is used on both screens.
• Fuel efficiency: The least-efficient version with the manual transmission is expected to get 11.9 L/100 km combined, while the automatic is estimated at as low as 11.2 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2024 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 2 trim levels: TRD Sport and TRD Off Road.

Here's the short version:

• TRD Sport: This is the better fit if you want the more road-focused package, since the expert review notes sport-tuned shocks for this version. It keeps the Tacoma’s core capability while leaning toward everyday driving.
• TRD Off Road: This is the trim to choose if off-road use matters most, because it gets monotube Bilstein shocks and 17-inch off-road alloys. It is the stronger pick if you want the Tacoma’s rugged character to be front and centre.

Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, so you get the core driver-assistance suite regardless of trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Toyota Tacoma?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 467 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.46% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,571 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $53,571 CAD sits slightly below last year's $57,889 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also suggests future sellers may face a more competitive market if supply stays healthy. A truck that has already moved down from last year’s average can be harder to position at a premium unless it has especially desirable equipment or condition.

The Tacoma’s strong reputation for reliability should help support demand over time, especially among shoppers who value durability and off-road capability. Even so, resale will still depend on trim, mileage, and how well the truck is equipped relative to similar listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The Tacoma still comes standard with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0), which now includes Lane Tracing Assist, lane-departure alert with steering assist, oncoming vehicle collision avoidance assist, road-sign assist, an emergency stop system, adaptive cruise control with four following-distance settings, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The expert review also notes that the new electric power steering helps enable additional driver-assistance features, which is part of the Tacoma’s more modern safety setup. One caveat is that official NHTSA and IIHS ratings were not yet available at the time of the review.

Should I buy a 2024 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.46% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The expert review highlights a ground-up redesign, standard advanced driver-assistance tech, and strong off-road capability.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,138 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,571 CAD average.
• It stands out as a compact pickup with a strong reputation and a clear personality.

The bottom line: If you want the newer redesign, stronger tech, and a more modern starting point, the 2024 is the better long-term pick. If your priority is spending less up front and you can live with the older truck’s age, the 2023 remains the value play.
