That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Because the model is positioned around practicality and all-weather confidence, it should continue to attract steady interest from shoppers who value those traits. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $29,861 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $34,678 CAD average.
• It prioritises everyday usefulness with standard AWD and a roomy cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $37,790 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $34,678 CAD average.
• It adds more advanced tech, a quieter cabin, and a better-equipped base model.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, broad usability, and strong satisfaction, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the better value play, while the 2025 makes sense if you want the newer refinement and are willing to pay more.
