Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Subaru Forester?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 401 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.26% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $34,508 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Subaru Forester's resale value?

The current average of $34,920 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,486 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more favourably now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you own one for a few years, the Forester’s practical reputation should help keep it appealing to shoppers who value usability and all-weather confidence. The current pricing also suggests future sellers may need to stay competitive to stand out.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Subaru Forester or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.26% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $30,044 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $34,920 CAD average.
• It focuses on everyday practicality with standard all-wheel drive and a roomy cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $37,641 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $34,920 CAD average.
• It adds more equipment, improved refinement, and a quieter cabin.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing and strong owner satisfaction, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive alternative, especially if you value practicality over newer features.
