Used 2024 Nissan Altima for Sale nearNepean, ON

How much does the 2024 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 14.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 101 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable range of choices.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It is positioned as a practical, value-focused midsize sedan with an attractive starting price, standard all-wheel drive in Canada, and easy-to-use technology. The trade-offs are pedestrian performance and unimpressive material quality, and the Bose stereo is lacking.

For shoppers who want a straightforward family sedan rather than an SUV, that mix makes sense. 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal if you find the right example.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima is described as a familiar, time-tested sedan with a strong value proposition and standard all-wheel drive in Canada. Its powertrain is presented as adequate and its continuously variable transmission does a good job managing power output, while the all-wheel-drive system is designed to send power rearward when traction demands it.

The cost-effectiveness notes also point to a three-year, 60,000-kilometre limited warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre limited powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the car’s modest performance and cabin quality may age less gracefully than its practical strengths.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum trims differ most in equipment, with the base S missing some convenience and tech features found higher up the range. The cabin is comfortable, but material quality is not a strong point, so inspect interior wear carefully.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. The more powerful VC-Turbo engine is not available in Canada, and the CVT can sound droning under harder acceleration.
• Safety package: Nissan’s standard driver-assistance suite includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S, while the Platinum adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition; traffic-sign recognition is also on SR Premium.
• Infotainment: Most Canadian Altimas use an 8-inch touchscreen, while the 12.3-inch display is standard only on SR Premium and Platinum. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on every Altima, but wireless versions are available only with the largest screen size, and NissanConnect is standard on SR Premium and Platinum.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima is rated at 9.1 L/100 km in the city, 6.5 on the highway, and 7.9 combined, with slightly higher figures on upper trims with larger wheels.

Which 2024 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the value play if you want the lowest entry price and standard all-wheel drive. It gives you the core Altima formula, but it misses some of the nicer tech and convenience upgrades found higher in the range, including ProPilot Assist.
• SR: This trim adds a bit more style and equipment without jumping all the way to the top of the range, making it a sensible middle ground if you want more than the base model.
• SR Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless phone projection, and NissanConnect, while also adding ProPilot Assist. It is the sweet spot if you care about tech.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most fully equipped Altima, including the 12.3-inch display, NissanConnect, traffic-sign recognition, and the 360-degree surround-view monitor.

ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S, so if that feature matters to you, avoid the entry model.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on a strong listing.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 101 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.09% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,344 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $26,344 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,663 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Altima has softened enough to improve used-car affordability, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If you buy now, you may benefit from the lower entry cost, but resale gains are likely to depend on keeping the car in strong condition and choosing a desirable trim.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2024 Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it also scores four-star ratings in the overall frontal crash test and driver-side barrier crash test. It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes impressively equipped with standard driver assistance, including forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian trims except the base S, and Platinum adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition, with traffic-sign recognition also on SR Premium.

The main caveat is that the 2024 model has not matched the earlier Top Safety Pick+ result because of poor performance in the updated IIHS side-impact test. That makes trim choice and careful shopping especially important if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.09% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines attractive starting value with standard AWD in Canada and easy-to-use technology.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,176 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,344 CAD average.
• It remains a practical value with standard AWD and a strong set of standard features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds a 2025 SR Premium trim to help renew interest in the lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, standard AWD, and modern convenience, the 2024 is the primary path to consider. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive alternative, while the 2025 makes sense only if you specifically want the newer trim walk.
