Used 2024 Nissan Altima for Sale nearKitchener, ON

How much does the 2024 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 14.69% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 107 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It fits well if you want a practical midsize sedan with an attractive starting price, standard safety technology, and easy-to-use technology. The trade-offs are pedestrian performance and unimpressive material quality, and the Bose stereo is lacking.

With 36.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Altima is presented as a familiar, time-tested sedan that has changed only subtly, which can be reassuring if you prefer a proven formula. Its standard all-wheel drive in Canada and straightforward technology also support everyday dependability. The performance setup is described as adequate, and the CVT is tuned to manage power smoothly, though it can get noisy under harder acceleration.

It also comes with a three-year, 60,000-kilometre limited warranty and a five-year, 100,000-kilometre limited powertrain warranty. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the cabin materials and drivetrain refinement may age less gracefully than the mechanical basics.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the value play, while higher trims add features such as the larger touchscreen, wireless phone charging, NissanConnect, and more premium convenience equipment. The base S also misses the wireless phone charger and ProPilot Assist.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with adequate performance, standard AWD in Canada, and a CVT. Fuel economy is estimated at 9.1 L/100 km in the city, 6.5 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.9 L/100 km combined, with slightly higher figures on upper trims with larger wheels.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is standard on all trims except the base S, while the Platinum adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition, and SR Premium also gets traffic-sign recognition.
• Infotainment: Most models use an 8-inch touchscreen, while the SR Premium and Platinum get a 12.3-inch display. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are standard on every Altima, but wireless versions are available only with the largest screen size.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 9.1 L/100 km in the city, 6.5 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the best-value trim if you want the lowest entry price and standard AWD without paying for extras you may not need. It still gives you the core Altima formula, but you give up the wireless phone charger and ProPilot Assist.
• SR: Choose this if you want a step up from the base model without jumping all the way to the pricier tech-focused trims. It keeps the Altima’s practical strengths while moving you closer to the better-equipped versions.
• SR Premium: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of equipment and value. It adds the 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless phone projection, NissanConnect, and traffic-sign recognition, making it the sweet spot for most shoppers.
• Platinum: Pick this if you want the most upscale Altima experience, including the 12.3-inch display, NissanConnect, traffic-sign recognition, and the 360-degree surround-view monitor.

The safety package is strongest on trims above the base S, since ProPilot Assist is standard everywhere else.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 107 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.69% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,041 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $26,041 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,525 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Altima is currently more buyer-friendly than seller-friendly. If you plan to resell later, you should expect value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the car has been maintained. The good news is that a lower entry price can help keep ownership costs manageable while you hold it.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2024 Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it scored four-star ratings in the overall frontal crash test and driver-side barrier crash test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with a strong standard safety suite that includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is standard on all trims except the base S, and the Platinum adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor and traffic-sign recognition, with traffic-sign recognition also included on SR Premium.

The main caveat is the Altima’s poor performance in the IIHS updated side-impact test, which keeps it from matching its earlier Top Safety Pick+ result.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.69% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard AWD in Canada with an upgraded touchscreen on higher trims.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $22,857 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,041 CAD average.
• It offers practical value, standard AWD, and strong standard features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds an SR Premium trim to help refresh the lineup.
• It leans on comfort, styling, and standard AWD for buyers who still want a sedan.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the best mix of value, standard safety tech, and available features. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the better price-sensitive path.
