Used 2024 Nissan Altima for Sale nearBarrie, ON

How much does the 2024 Nissan Altima cost?

Prices have softened 13.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 100 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Nissan Altima earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 9/10.

It is presented as a practical midsize sedan for you if you want familiar, straightforward transportation rather than a flashy redesign. The Altima’s appeal centres on its attractive starting price, standard all-wheel drive in Canada, and easy-to-use technology, while higher trims add a larger touchscreen display.

The trade-offs are pedestrian performance and unimpressive material quality, and the Bose stereo is lacking. Even so, the car’s comfortable, sensible character makes it a fit if you value everyday usability over excitement.

30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which is a decent sign that some shoppers may find room to negotiate.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Altima is described as a time-tested option, and its straightforward design should make ownership familiar and manageable for you. Its standard all-wheel drive in Canada also adds confidence for year-round use, especially if you drive in mixed weather.

The available information also points to a well-rounded package rather than a complicated one, which can be a plus when you’re shopping used. For long-term ownership, the main risk is that a used example may show its age in cabin quality and refinement rather than in basic dependability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim is the value play, while SR Premium and Platinum add more upscale equipment. The base S misses some convenience and tech features, including the wireless phone charger, NissanConnect, and ProPilot Assist.
• Powertrain: You get a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 182 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT. It is adequate rather than exciting, and the standard AWD setup helps with traction while keeping the car reasonably efficient.
• Safety package: ProPilot Assist is standard on all Altimas sold in Canada except the base S trim. Standard ADAS includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning.
• Infotainment: Most models use an 8-inch touchscreen, while the SR Premium and Platinum get a 12.3-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available only with the larger screen, and NissanConnect is standard on SR Premium and Platinum.
• Fuel efficiency: The Altima is estimated at 9.1 L/100 km in the city, 6.5 L/100 km on the highway, and 7.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Nissan Altima trim should I buy?

The 2024 Nissan Altima is offered in 4 trim levels: S, SR, SR Premium, and Platinum.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the best-value trim if you want the Altima’s core strengths at the lowest price. You still get standard AWD and the model’s main safety equipment, but you give up some convenience and connected-tech features.
• SR: This trim adds a sportier presentation without changing the Altima’s basic formula. It suits you if you want a little more style while staying close to the value end of the range.
• SR Premium: This is the trim to target if you want the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless phone projection, and NissanConnect. It is the best balance of equipment and value for many shoppers.
• Platinum: Choose this if you want the most upscale Altima experience, including the larger screen and the extra safety and convenience features that come with the top trim.

The Platinum trim also adds a 360-degree surround-view monitor, while traffic-sign recognition is included on SR Premium and Platinum.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Nissan Altima?

The market looks moderate for selective buyers, so it is worth shopping carefully and comparing listings.

• Deal availability: 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 100 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,786 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Nissan Altima's resale value?

The current average of $26,786 CAD sits slightly below last year's $31,119 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Altima has become more accessible for used buyers, which can make it easier for you to find a competitive deal today. For a future seller, softer pricing now may mean you need to be more careful about condition, mileage, and trim if you want to protect value later.

The Altima’s broad appeal as a practical, well-equipped sedan should still help support demand, especially for shoppers who want standard AWD in Canada. Strong value positioning can help a used model remain attractive even in a shrinking sedan market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Nissan Altima safe?

The 2024 Altima earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, though it scored four-star ratings in the overall frontal crash test and driver-side barrier crash test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

The Altima comes with a strong standard safety suite that includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear automatic braking, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-departure warning. ProPilot Assist is standard on all Canadian Altimas except the base S trim, and it combines steering assistance with adaptive cruise control for highway driving and traffic jams.

The main caveat is that the 2024 model did not receive the same IIHS recognition as the 2022 Altima because of poor performance in the updated side-impact test. If safety is your top priority, that is worth weighing carefully against the car’s otherwise strong standard equipment.

Should I buy a 2024 Nissan Altima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines standard AWD in Canada with a strong standard safety suite.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $23,442 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $26,786 CAD average.
• It offers strong value, standard AWD, and a solid set of everyday features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• It adds a more competitive trim walk and keeps standard AWD in Canada.
• It leans on comfort and practicality while staying familiar.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, standard AWD, and safety equipment, the 2024 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2023 is the smarter price-sensitive alternative, while the 2025 is worth a look if you want the newest nearby option and can stretch for it.
