Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC is positioned as a polished luxury crossover with a refined ride, a highly functional voice-command system, and strong safety credentials. It is especially appealing if you want a premium family vehicle that feels upscale and technologically advanced without being overcomplicated.

One trade-off is that desirable advanced driver-assistance systems are not standard, and some of the features you may want cost extra. Another is that cargo space is limited, especially in the Coupe.

With 35.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive example.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC is presented as a carefully developed second-generation luxury crossover, and its strong safety performance supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. Its highly functional voice-command system and improved ride also point to a vehicle that is designed to be easy to live with.

Its performance setup is described as more refined than before, though the AMG version’s firmer ride and rougher shifts may matter if you plan to use it as a commuter. Mercedes also makes some advanced driver-assistance features optional, so you should verify the equipment on any used example before you buy.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is ending up with a vehicle that lacks the convenience and safety features you expected because they were not standard.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GLC 300 gives you the core luxury crossover experience, but the AMG version adds a more aggressive grille, a sportier interior presentation, and a much more performance-focused character. The base model is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you expect a fully loaded feature set.
• Powertrain: The standard GLC 300 uses a mild-hybrid turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 255 hp, while the AMG GLC 43 uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 416 hp and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The AMG setup is quicker and more responsive, but it also brings rougher shifts and a firmer ride.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, active parking assist, and Pre-Safe. Adaptive cruise control, active steering assist, active lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign assist cost extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.9-inch centre screen with the third-generation MBUX system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a highly usable voice-command system. Navigation, a 15-speaker Burmester 3D surround sound system, a head-up display, augmented reality navigation, and extra USB-C ports are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLC 300 SUV and Coupe are rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined, while the AMG GLC 43 SUV is rated at 11.2 L/100 km combined and the AMG GLC 43 Coupe at 11.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC is offered in 2 trim levels: GLC 300 and AMG GLC 43.

Here's the short version:

• GLC 300: This is the better-value choice if you want the core Mercedes experience with strong fuel economy, standard all-wheel drive, and the most approachable ownership costs in the range. It gives you the polished cabin, the excellent voice-command system, and the everyday usability most shoppers are after.
• AMG GLC 43: Choose this only if you want the sharper performance character, the 416-hp engine, and the more aggressive driving feel. It suits you best if you care more about speed and handling than ride comfort or value.

Safety-package note: desirable advanced driver-assistance systems are not standard, so check carefully for the options you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 217 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $52,068 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $53,138 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,750 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled from a stronger position, which can make the vehicle more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, that means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum. Well-optioned examples with the right safety and convenience features should hold buyer interest better than sparsely equipped ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), that institution’s highest honour.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, active parking assist, and Pre-Safe. Pre-Safe can tighten seatbelts, close the windows and moonroof if equipped, and reposition the front passenger’s seat when a crash is imminent.

A key caveat is that the standard front crash-prevention system was rated only “Acceptable,” while the optional upgraded version earned “Good.” Also, several advanced driver-assistance systems remain optional rather than standard.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• AMG variants return, broadening the lineup and giving you more choice.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,721 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,138 CAD average.
• It is all-new and conservative, with a polished cabin and relaxed daily-driving character.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $66,053 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $53,138 CAD average.
• It adds revisions and a new plug-in hybrid variant.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, choice, and current-market value, the 2024 is the sensible pick. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is the cheaper route into the same basic formula.
