Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for luxury-SUV shoppers.

The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

The GLC’s appeal comes from its polished cabin, improved ride quality, and highly functional voice-command system. It also brings strong safety credentials, which makes it a compelling premium family vehicle if you value refinement and technology.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: desirable advanced driver-assistance systems are not standard, and some of the features you may want cost extra.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The GLC’s second-generation redesign leans into refinement and everyday usability, and the expert review highlights a polished, well-executed luxury crossover rather than a complicated one. Its strong safety performance and functional technology also support confidence in day-to-day ownership.

The performance and equipment mix suggests a premium ownership experience, but used buyers should still budget carefully for optional features and higher-end maintenance expectations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base GLC 300 gives you the core luxury-crossover experience, while AMG variants add a more aggressive character and a firmer ride. The standard model is the better fit if you want comfort and everyday usability over sportiness.
• Powertrain: The base GLC 300 uses a mild-hybrid turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 255 hp, while AMG versions step up to a much more powerful setup. The performance model is quicker, but it also brings rougher shifts and a firmer suspension.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, active parking assist, and Pre-Safe. Adaptive cruise control, active steering assist, active lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign assist cost extra.
• Infotainment: You get an 11.9-inch centre screen with MBUX, wireless Apple CarPlay, and wireless Android Auto. Navigation, a Burmester 3D surround sound system, a head-up display, augmented reality navigation, and additional USB-C ports are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The GLC 300 SUV and Coupe are rated at 9.0 L/100 km combined, while the AMG 43 SUV is rated at 11.2 L/100 km combined and the AMG 43 Coupe at 11.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC is offered in 2 trim levels: GLC 300 4Matic and AMG GLC 43.

Here's the short version:

• GLC 300 4Matic: This is the trim most shoppers should start with because it delivers the core GLC experience with strong efficiency, standard all-wheel drive, and the most balanced everyday character. It suits you best if you want the luxury, technology, and safety foundation without paying for the AMG’s extra performance hardware.
• AMG GLC 43: Choose this if you want the most engaging GLC and are willing to accept a firmer ride and rougher shifts. It adds much more power and a sportier feel, but it is less convincing as a commuter.

Standard safety equipment includes active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, active parking assist, and Pre-Safe.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 217 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $52,060 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC's resale value?

The current average of $53,083 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,718 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can work in your favour if you are buying now. For a future seller, it also means you may need to be realistic about pricing if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The GLC’s strong reputation and premium positioning should help support demand, but resale value will still depend on trim, equipment, and condition. Well-equipped examples with desirable options are likely to hold buyer interest better than sparsely optioned ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC earned a Top Safety Pick+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), that institution’s highest honour.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features on the 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe and SUV include active brake assist, attention assist, blind-spot and exit warning assist, adaptive braking technology, adaptive high beams, heated and rain-sensing wipers, and active parking assist, among other features.

Pre-Safe is also standard, and it can tighten seatbelts, close the windows and moonroof if equipped, and re-position the front passenger’s seat if a crash is imminent.

A key caveat is that popular advanced driver-assistance systems such as adaptive cruise control, active steering assist, active lane-keeping assist, and traffic sign assist cost extra.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• AMG variants return for 2024, broadening the lineup.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,660 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,083 CAD average.
• It offers a conservative redesign with a polished cabin.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $65,978 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $53,083 CAD average.
• It adds a new plug-in hybrid variant and broader appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, inventory, and current-model freshness, the 2024 is the sensible default. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2023 is worth a look; if you want the newest updates and can spend more, the 2025 is the upgrade path.
