Used 2024 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearWaterloo, ON

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have softened 10.52% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 432 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 6.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It stands out as a small crossover SUV that leans rugged while still working as an everyday driver. The standard all-wheel drive, stylish design, and classy interior give it a more upscale feel than many rivals, while its outdoorsy positioning gives it a clear identity.

The trade-offs are worth noting: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the CX-50 faces plenty of competition from established nameplates. It also isn’t especially charismatic, so you’re buying more for its design, packaging, and usability than for excitement.

With 32.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-50’s standard all-wheel drive and straightforward 2.5-litre four-cylinder setup point to a practical, familiar ownership experience. Mazda’s Canadian warranty coverage is also better than average for drivers who rack up kilometres quickly, with three-year new vehicle and five-year powertrain coverage, both without mileage limits.

Its performance is described as good for daily driving, and the model’s standard equipment helps it feel well covered from the start. Mazda also keeps the cabin relatively simple, which may appeal if you prefer fewer complicated systems to maintain over time.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a higher-mileage example may not feel as compelling if you expect strong performance or top-tier value.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: GS-L trim vehicles get 17-inch wheels, while the GT comes with 20-inch wheels. The Meridian Edition adds all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim, and it is the most outdoorsy-looking version.
• Powertrain: All CX-50 models use a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with turbocharging on higher trim levels. The base engine makes 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while turbo models add much more power and towing capacity.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist tech includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: A 10.25-inch infotainment screen is standard, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard too. Higher trim levels also get wireless phone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: With the base non-turbo engine, the CX-50 is rated at 8.9 litres per 100 kilometres combined, with 9.7 city and 7.9 highway. The turbocharged engine rises to 9.4 L/100 km combined, with 10.4 city and 8.2 highway.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 3 trim levels: GS-L, GT, and Meridian Edition.

Here's the short version:

• GS-L: This is the entry point and the best-value choice if you want the CX-50’s standard all-wheel drive, 10.25-inch infotainment screen, and core safety tech without paying for extras you may not need.
• GT: This trim adds a more upscale feel with 20-inch wheels and more available convenience and tech features, making it the better pick if you want a richer daily-driver experience.
• Meridian Edition: Choose this if you want the most rugged-looking CX-50, with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and a more adventurous appearance.

Mazda’s standard safety equipment is strong across the range, while some advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully before you commit.

• Deal availability: 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 432 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.52% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,079 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $37,079 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,440 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-50 has become more approachable for used buyers, which can help keep demand steady in the near term. For future sellers, it also means you may need to price competitively if you want your listing to stand out.

The model’s rugged styling and standard all-wheel drive should help it remain appealing to shoppers who want a compact SUV with a more distinctive personality. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The CX-50 was named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it received a five-star frontal crash-test rating and four-star rollover crash-test rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda includes a strong standard safety suite with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Optional upgrades include emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system.

One caveat is that the standard headlights were only rated “Average,” and the nighttime pedestrian front-crash-prevention result was the lowest “Basic” score.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines rugged styling, standard all-wheel drive, and a classy interior.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,272 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,079 CAD average.
• It offers a stylish, adventure-focused design with standard safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $41,298 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,079 CAD average.
• It adds a hybrid powertrain for better efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing and availability, the 2024 is the sensible pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value; if you want improved efficiency, the 2025 is the upgrade to consider.
