Used 2024 Mazda CX-50 for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2024 Mazda CX-50 cost?

Prices have softened 9.71% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 392 listings available, which suggests a decent amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Mazda CX-50 earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 6.83/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

It fits you well if you want a compact SUV with a more rugged look, standard all-wheel drive, and a classy interior. The trade-off is that its performance is fairly pedestrian, and it does not charm as much as some rivals. It also faces plenty of competition from established nameplates, so you should expect a practical daily driver rather than a standout enthusiast pick.

Only 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you may need to shop selectively to find the best value.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-50 is positioned as a practical daily driver with standard all-wheel drive and a straightforward powertrain lineup, which supports an ownership experience that should feel familiar and manageable. Mazda’s warranty coverage in Canada is better than average for drivers who rack up kilometres quickly, with three-year new vehicle and five-year powertrain coverage, both without mileage limits. Its standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder setup is simple, and the available turbo version adds power without changing the basic formula.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the CX-50’s value proposition is not especially strong, so you’ll want to be careful not to overpay.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: GS-L trim gets 17-inch wheels, while GT adds 20-inch wheels. Meridian Edition pushes the rugged look further with all-terrain tires on 18-inch wheels, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced rocker-panel trim. If you want the best-value trim, the GS-L gives you the core CX-50 experience without the added cost of the more appearance-focused versions.
• Powertrain: All models use a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, with turbocharging on higher trim levels. The base engine makes 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while the turbo engine is rated at 256 hp and 320 lb-ft on 93-octane gasoline or 227 hp and 310 lb-ft on 87-octane fuel. All-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic are standard.
• Safety package: Mazda’s standard driver-assist suite includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional.
• Infotainment: You get a 10.25-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual front and rear USB ports. The system is not a touchscreen by default, and higher trims add wireless phone charging, SiriusXM satellite radio, and a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 8.9 L/100 km combined, while the turbocharged engine uses 9.4 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Mazda CX-50 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 is offered in 3 trim levels: GS-L, GT, and Meridian Edition.

Here's the short version:

• GS-L: This is the trim to start with if you want the CX-50’s standard all-wheel drive, core safety tech, and the cleanest value proposition. It gives you the essentials without paying for the more style-driven upgrades.
• GT: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel and the larger 20-inch wheels. It suits you if you care more about appearance and added equipment than keeping the purchase price down.
• Meridian Edition: This is the most rugged-looking version, with all-terrain tires, a black hood graphic, and more pronounced exterior trim. It makes sense if the CX-50’s outdoorsy image is what you want most.

Mazda’s standard safety package is strong across the range, but some advanced driver-assistance features remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mazda CX-50?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some confidence if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 392 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,664 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Mazda CX-50's resale value?

The current average of $37,664 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,712 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-50 has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market. If prices stay near the current average, you should expect resale values to remain under pressure compared with last year’s level. Stronger trims and well-kept examples may still hold appeal, but the model’s value story is not especially strong.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Mazda CX-50 safe?

The 2024 Mazda CX-50 was named a 2023 Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it received a five-star frontal crash-test rating and four-star rollover crash-test rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s standard safety suite includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a driver attention monitor. Emergency lane-keeping with road-keep assist, rear automatic braking, traffic-jam assist, and a 360-degree camera system are optional. One caveat is that the standard headlights were only rated “Average,” and the nighttime pedestrian front-crash prevention result was the lowest “Basic” score.

Should I buy a 2024 Mazda CX-50 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.71% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines rugged styling, standard all-wheel drive, and a classy interior.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $32,616 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,664 CAD average.
• It offers a stylish, adventurous compact crossover with practical room.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $42,043 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $37,664 CAD average.
• It adds a hybrid powertrain for better efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of current pricing, standard equipment, and rugged styling, the 2024 is the sensible pick. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value path; if efficiency matters more, the 2025 is the upgrade to watch.
