How much does the 2024 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 13.14% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 216 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Form and function, Cost effectiveness, and Safety.

The RX is built around comfort, luxury, and fuel efficiency, so it makes the most sense if you want a quiet, relaxed crossover rather than something sporty. Its cabin is described as quiet and comfortable, and it delivers impressive fuel economy figures for a premium SUV.

The trade-offs are clear: it is not especially engaging to drive, and some interior materials feel cheap. The styling may also divide opinion.

With 27.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX’s overall character points to a model that should be easy to live with, thanks to its comfort-focused tuning, quiet cabin, and strong efficiency. Its expert assessment also highlights a premium, refinement-first approach rather than a complicated or high-strung one.

The powertrain lineup is straightforward for a luxury SUV, and the standard all-wheel-drive setup in Canada adds year-round confidence. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that some examples may have been chosen for style or equipment rather than careful maintenance history, so condition matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Lexus RX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base RX 350 is the starting point, while higher-priced packages add faux suede inserts in the seats, doors, and roof pillars, plus a larger 14-inch infotainment touchscreen. The base trim is the one most likely to miss those upscale touches.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The RX 350h hybrid uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 246 hp and a CVT, while the RX 500h F Sport Performance adds much more output.
• Safety package: All RX models come with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear passenger safe-exit system, and parking proximity sensors. A head-up display, digital rearview mirror, surround-view camera system, semi-automated parking system, and highway driving assist are available.
• Infotainment: Lower-priced configurations get a 9.8-inch touchscreen, while higher-end models use a 14-inch display. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, and the system also supports cloud-based navigation with a three-year free trial.
• Fuel efficiency: The base RX 350 is estimated at 9.9 L/100 km combined, while the RX 350h is rated at 6.5 L/100 km combined. The RX 500h is estimated at 8.6 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2024 Lexus RX is offered in 4 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h F Sport Performance, RX 450h+.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RX experience with the turbocharged 2.4-litre engine, standard AWD, and the comfort-first ride. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the lineup.
• RX 350h: This is the best-value trim for most buyers because it adds the hybrid powertrain and a major fuel-economy advantage without jumping to the priciest models. If you want the RX’s comfort and refinement with lower running costs, this is the one to target.
• RX 500h F Sport Performance: Choose this if you want the most powerful gas-electric RX and are willing to pay for it. It is the performance-oriented choice in the lineup, but the RX still remains comfort-focused overall.
• RX 450h+: This is the plug-in hybrid option for you if you can charge regularly and want the strongest efficiency story. It offers electric-only driving capability, but it sits at the top of the price range.

All RX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, so you do not need to move up the trim ladder for the core safety suite.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Lexus RX?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing movement to reward careful shopping.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 216 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $53,842 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $53,852 CAD sits slightly below last year's $61,997 CAD.

That price drop suggests the RX is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that can mean less upside if the market stays soft, especially if similar inventory remains widely available.

Even so, the RX’s comfort-first appeal and premium positioning should help it stay relevant with shoppers who want a refined luxury SUV. Well-kept examples with desirable equipment should remain easier to move than neglected ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Lexus RX safe?

The 2024 Lexus RX earned five-star ratings in overall and side collision protection, and four-star ratings in frontal and rollover tests from NHTSA. The RX was also named a Top Safety Pick by IIHS, though it received a Poor result in the new moderate frontal overlap test.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

All RX models come standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a rear passenger safe-exit system, and parking proximity sensors. Available upgrades include a head-up display, digital rearview mirror, surround-view camera system, semi-automated parking system, and highway driving assist with adaptive cruise and lane centring.

The main caveat is that some systems can be tuned conservatively, which may lead to unnecessary warning beeps. The IIHS Poor result in the moderate frontal overlap test is also worth noting if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.14% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 RX combines comfort, luxury, and strong fuel efficiency in a quiet, relaxed package.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $49,625 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $53,852 CAD average.
• It feels meaningfully updated and brings a polished cabin with strong technology.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current pricing, inventory, and comfort-focused appeal, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the smarter value play.
