Used 2024 Land Rover Defender for Sale nearOakville, ON

How much does the 2024 Land Rover Defender cost?

Prices have softened 14.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 195 listings available, which suggests a modest amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

The 2024 Defender is aimed at you if you want a rugged-yet-refined luxury SUV with genuine off-road ability and a premium image. Its broad appeal comes from the way it blends capability with sophistication, and the 2024 model year adds a host of new features along with wider availability for one of its V8 engine options.

The trade-offs are clear: handling is more cumbersome than most luxury SUVs, and fuel economy is below average. Even so, the Defender’s strong engine selection and versatile character make it a compelling fit if you value capability and presence over efficiency.

37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Defender is presented as a durable, adventure-ready SUV with a premium feel, and its standard equipment list supports that impression. Its powertrain range is broad, and the available six-cylinder and V8 versions add flexibility if you want more performance or towing capability.

The Defender is backed by a 4-year/80,000-kilometre limited warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk for used buyers. For you, the main long-term concern is that its premium running costs and complex hardware can make upkeep less forgiving than on simpler SUVs.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim includes 19-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, partial leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic glass roof, and a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel. It also comes standard with remote keyless entry, satellite radio, HD radio, and a 10-speaker Meridian sound system. The X-Dynamic SE adds 20-inch alloy wheels and distinctive exterior and interior styling touches, while the X adds 22-inch wheels, a digital rearview mirror camera, and partial Windsor leather upholstery. The V8 trim combines leather and microsuede upholstery, and the Outbound trim removes the third row to provide added cargo space.
• Powertrain: You get a turbocharged four-cylinder, a mild-hybrid turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six, and two supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engines. All engines use an eight-speed automatic and full-time active four-wheel drive. The six-cylinder and V8 versions can tow up to 3,500 kilograms when properly equipped, while the four-cylinder version is rated to tow up to 2,500 kilograms.
• Safety package: The Defender comes with forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system. Lane-departure and lane-keeping assist intervention can feel too touchy.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel and an 11.4-inch touchscreen. The system includes navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, satellite radio, HD radio, and a 10-speaker Meridian stereo system.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient configuration returns 12.9 litres per 100 kilometres in the city, 10.8 on the highway, and 12.0 combined. The base four-cylinder in the 90 returns 13.1 L/100 km city, 11.4 highway, and 12.3 combined. Our 110 with the six-cylinder returns 13.8 city, 11.6 highway, and 12.8 combined. The least efficient version returns 16.4 city, 12.7 highway, and 14.7 combined.

Which 2024 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2024 Land Rover Defender is offered in 5 trim levels: S, X-Dynamic SE, X, V8, and Outbound.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the best-value starting point because it already brings a panoramic glass roof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and a strong standard safety and infotainment list.
• X-Dynamic SE: Choose this if you want a more distinctive look and larger 20-inch wheels without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• X: This is the step-up trim for you if you want the most noticeable equipment gains, including 22-inch wheels, a digital rearview mirror camera, and partial Windsor leather upholstery.
• V8: Pick this if performance matters most, since it pairs the Defender’s more upscale cabin materials with the strongest engine option mentioned here.
• Outbound: This is the one to consider if you want the Defender 130’s extra cargo space and can live without the third row.

The Defender’s standard safety package is extensive across the lineup, but the lane-departure and lane-keeping assist can feel overly intrusive.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you have room to shop carefully rather than rush.

• Deal availability: 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 195 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.75% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $70,267 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Land Rover Defender's resale value?

The current average of $70,651 CAD sits slightly below last year's $82,877 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, which can put pressure on future resale values if you plan to sell soon. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less cushion than an owner who purchased when prices were higher. On the other hand, a model with strong demand and broad appeal can still hold value better than the average SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender safe?

The Defender comes with an extensive list of standard driver assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Other standard safety tech includes traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The lane-departure and lane-keeping assist intervention can feel too touchy, so you may want to test that behaviour on your own drive. As of this writing, neither IIHS nor NHTSA has crash-tested the 2024 Defender.

Should I buy a 2024 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 37.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a host of new features and expands availability for one of its V8 engine options.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $61,399 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $70,651 CAD average.
• It offers extra length and a more practical, purpose-built feel.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $84,716 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $70,651 CAD average.
• It adds more off-road technology and a high-performance OCTA variant.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current features and softened pricing, the 2024 is the smart default. If your priority is lower purchase cost, the 2023 is the value play; if you want the newest performance and off-road tech, look to the 2025.
