Used 2024 Land Rover Defender for Sale nearBurnaby, BC

How much does the 2024 Land Rover Defender cost?

Prices have softened 13.41% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 199 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender a good car?

Yes — 5/5 from owners and 7.67/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Form and function and Technology.

The 2024 Land Rover Defender is a strong fit if you want a luxury SUV with genuine off-road ability and a more sophisticated feel than the original nameplate. It also suits buyers drawn to overlanding, since its styling and personality support that use case while still feeling premium.

The main trade-offs are that handling is more cumbersome than most luxury SUVs and fuel economy is below average. Even so, the Defender’s broad engine range and long list of standard interior and safety features make it appealing if you want capability without giving up everyday usefulness.

With 34.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Defender is presented as a rugged, premium SUV with a short learning curve for its tech and a comfortable, refined ride for daily use. Its strong off-road focus and durable running gear suggest it is built for demanding conditions, while the extensive standard equipment adds to its everyday appeal.

It also comes with a 4-year/80,000-kilometre limited warranty, which helps support ownership confidence. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that its premium hardware and complex capability can make upkeep more expensive than a mainstream SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The S trim gives you a strong starting point with 19-inch alloy wheels, power-adjustable front seats, heated front seats, partial leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic glass roof, and a heated, power-adjustable steering wheel. It also includes remote keyless entry, satellite radio, HD radio, and a 10-speaker Meridian sound system. Higher trims add more distinctive styling, larger wheels, upgraded upholstery, and extra convenience features.
• Powertrain: You can choose from a turbocharged four-cylinder, a mild-hybrid turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-six, or supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engines. The six-cylinder and V8 options bring stronger towing capacity, while the Defender’s off-road-optimised gearing and full-time active 4WD are central to its character.
• Safety package: The Defender includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system. Some trims also add or offer features such as a digital rearview mirror camera and off-road-focused hardware.
• Infotainment: You get a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel and an 11.4-inch touchscreen with navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, satellite radio, HD radio, and a 10-speaker Meridian stereo system. The setup is straightforward rather than oversized, which may appeal if you prefer simplicity.
• Fuel efficiency: The most efficient configuration returns 12.9 L/100 km city, 10.8 highway, and 12.0 combined. The base four-cylinder in the 90 returns 13.1 L/100 km city, 11.4 highway, and 12.3 combined, while the 110 with the six-cylinder returns 13.8 city, 11.6 highway, and 12.8 combined. The least efficient version returns 16.4 city, 12.7 highway, and 14.7 combined.

Which 2024 Land Rover Defender trim should I buy?

The 2024 Land Rover Defender is offered in 5 trim levels: S, X-Dynamic SE, X, V8, and Outbound.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the best-value starting point if you want the Defender experience without chasing extras. It already brings a panoramic glass roof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the core infotainment and audio setup.
• X-Dynamic SE: This trim adds 20-inch alloy wheels and distinctive exterior and interior styling touches, making it a good step up if you want a more polished look without jumping too far up the range.
• X: This is the trim to target if you want more capability and a richer feel, thanks to 22-inch wheels, a digital rearview mirror camera, and partial Windsor leather upholstery.
• V8: Choose this if you want the strongest performance focus in the lineup, along with leather and microsuede upholstery.
• Outbound: This Canada-only Defender 130 trim is the one to consider if cargo space matters most, since it removes the third row to create more room for gear.

The Defender also offers a wide range of standard safety equipment, so even lower trims are well covered on that front.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Land Rover Defender?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 199 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $70,433 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Land Rover Defender's resale value?

The current average of $71,633 CAD sits slightly below last year's $82,723 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside for a future seller. If you buy at the current average, you are starting from a lower entry point than last year’s shoppers faced. That can soften depreciation pressure somewhat, but premium SUVs still depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment mix.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Land Rover Defender safe?

The Defender comes with an extensive list of standard driver assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Other standard safety tech includes traffic sign recognition, automatic high beams, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and a 360-degree parking camera system. The lane-departure and lane-keeping assist intervention can feel overly touchy, especially when you are trying to drive past certain obstacles or near off-ramps, though it can be switched off.

Should I buy a 2024 Land Rover Defender or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a host of new features and expands availability of a powerful V8 option.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $62,169 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $71,633 CAD average.
• It offers extra usefulness through its extended-length body.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $84,041 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $71,633 CAD average.
• It adds the high-performance OCTA and broadens the off-road-ready lineup.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current features, strong capability, and a softer market price, the 2024 is the sensible default. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 is the better value path; if you want the newest performance-focused version, the 2025 is the upgrade to watch.
