Used 2024 Kia Carnival for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2024 Kia Carnival cost?

Prices have softened 8.96% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 212 listings available, which suggests you have a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Carnival earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a seriously good people mover with a stylish design and a powerful engine, while also offering excellent value for money. That makes it a strong fit if you want minivan usefulness without a plain or utilitarian feel.

The main trade-offs are the lack of all-wheel drive or hybrid options, plus the fact that Kia does not make folding the seats easy. Even so, the Carnival’s strong driving experience and affordable starting price keep it appealing for practical family use.

32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which points to a decent amount of market opportunity.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Carnival is presented as a practical family vehicle with a strong driving experience and a solid, well-put-together cabin. Its 5-year, 100,000-kilometre limited comprehensive warranty, including the powertrain, also supports confidence in ownership.

Its powertrain is described as refined, with smooth and quick transmission shifts and a V6 that does its work without complaint. That said, used buyers should still weigh the mixed safety results and the absence of hybrid or all-wheel drive options when thinking about long-term ownership risk.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base LX and LX+ models get cloth seats, EX and EX+ models get leatherette upholstery, while SX trims get real leather upholstery. The base LX does not come with standard heated seats or a heated steering wheel, so you need LX+ if those matter to you.
• Powertrain: You get a 3.5-litre V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive only. There is no all-wheel drive option and no hybrid powertrain for this model year.
• Safety package: Lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision avoidance assist, a driver attention monitor, high beam assist, and rear parking sensors are standard. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist require EX trim or higher. A surround-view camera system and a blind-spot camera system are on EX+ models, while reserve parking collision avoidance assist is reserved for SX.
• Infotainment: LX, LX+, and EX trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other trims upgrade to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, but CarPlay and Android Auto become wired. The SX adds a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in the city, 9.0 on the highway, and 10.7 combined. In testing, it returned an indicated 11.4 L/100 km average.

Which 2024 Kia Carnival trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Carnival is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, LX+, EX, EX+, SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is best if you want the lowest price and can live without standard heated seats or a heated steering wheel.
• LX+: This is the best-value choice if you want a more comfortable daily driver, because it adds the heated-seat and heated-steering-wheel equipment missing from LX.
• EX: This is the smart step-up if you want the broader safety package, including blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and more.
• EX+: Choose this if you want the larger 12.3-inch infotainment setup plus the surround-view camera and blind-spot camera system.
• SX: This is the most fully equipped version, adding the 12-speaker Bose audio system and reserve parking collision avoidance assist.

For safety equipment, the biggest trim-level gaps are on the lower grades, where several driver-assistance features are not standard.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 212 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $37,817 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Carnival's resale value?

The current average of $37,817 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,537 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Carnival has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means a future seller may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now, you may have less downside risk than someone who paid closer to last year’s average.

The model’s strong value proposition and broad family appeal should help support demand over time. Its distinctive styling and practical layout also give it a clearer identity than many rivals, which can help when it comes time to resell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival safe?

The 2024 Kia Carnival received mixed scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It received the top “Good” rating in the driver and passenger-side small-overlap front crash tests, and the same high score in the original versions of the moderate-overlap front and side tests. However, it received a “Marginal” rating in the updated moderate-overlap front test and a “Poor” rating in the updated side test.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision avoidance assist, a driver attention monitor, high beam assist, and rear parking sensors are standard. To get blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist, you need to move up from the base trim. A surround-view camera system and a blind-spot camera system are added on EX+ models, while reserve parking collision avoidance assist is exclusive to SX.

The mixed IIHS results are the main safety caveat to keep in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Carnival or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over unchanged ahead of a 2025-model-year refresh, while still offering a strong driving experience and affordable starting price.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $33,014 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $37,817 CAD average.
• It makes the minivan formula feel more stylish and less obvious.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of current-market pricing, strong value, and a well-rounded family-hauler package, the 2024 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is worth a look, especially if you can find one with the equipment you want.
