Used 2024 Kia Carnival for Sale nearOshawa, ON

How much does the 2024 Kia Carnival cost?

Prices have softened 8.45% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 210 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Kia Carnival earns a 4.75/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

It stands out as a practical family vehicle that still aims to feel more distinctive than the typical boxy people mover. The Carnival’s strengths are a great driving experience, an affordable starting price, stylish design, a powerful engine, and strong value for money.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: it has mixed safety ratings, no hybrid or all-wheel drive options, and the seats are not easy to fold.

With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Carnival is presented as a practical family hauler with solid build quality and materials that are meant to handle daily abuse. Its powertrain is described as refined, with smooth and quick shifts and a V6 that works without complaint. The ride is also described as comfortable, which should help reduce fatigue on longer trips.

Kia’s 5-year, 100,000-kilometre limited comprehensive warranty, including the powertrain, adds another layer of reassurance for used buyers.

For long-term ownership, the main risk is that the Carnival’s mixed safety record and lack of hybrid or AWD alternatives may matter more as your needs change.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base LX does not come with standard heated seats or a heated steering wheel, so you need to move up to the LX+ if those matter to you. Higher trims also bring more upscale upholstery, with leatherette on EX and EX+ and real leather on SX.
• Powertrain: You get a single setup: a 3.5-litre V6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. There is no all-wheel drive option and no hybrid powertrain for this model year.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision avoidance assist, a driver attention monitor, high beam assist, and rear parking sensors. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist require the EX trim. A surround-view camera system and blind-spot camera system arrive on EX+ models, while reserve parking collision avoidance assist is reserved for SX.
• Infotainment: LX, LX+, and EX trims get an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Higher trims move to a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, but CarPlay and Android Auto become wired. The SX adds a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada rates it at 12.1 L/100 km in city driving, 9.0 on the highway, and 10.7 combined. In testing, it returned an indicated 11.4 L/100 km average.

Which 2024 Kia Carnival trim should I buy?

The 2024 Kia Carnival is offered in 5 trim levels: LX, LX+, EX, EX+, SX.

Here's the short version:

• LX: This is the entry point, but it is best if you want the lowest price and can live without standard heated seats or a heated steering wheel.
• LX+: This is the best-value trim if you want a more comfortable daily driver, because it adds the heated-seat and heated-steering-wheel equipment missing from the LX.
• EX: This is the smart step-up if safety equipment matters, since it adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist.
• EX+: This is the trim to target if you want the larger 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, and the surround-view and blind-spot camera systems.
• SX: This is the most fully equipped version, with the 12-speaker Bose audio system, real leather upholstery, and reserve parking collision avoidance assist.

The safety-package gap to remember is that several driver-assistance features are not standard until you move beyond the base LX.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Kia Carnival?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 210 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.45% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,004 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Kia Carnival's resale value?

The current average of $38,004 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,511 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim choice rather than broad market momentum alone.

The Carnival’s strong value proposition and broad appeal as a family vehicle should help support demand. But its mixed safety ratings and lack of hybrid or AWD options may limit how quickly some buyers move on it later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Kia Carnival safe?

The 2024 Kia Carnival received mixed scores from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), with Good ratings in the driver and passenger-side small-overlap front crash tests and in the original moderate-overlap front and side tests, but Marginal and Poor ratings in the updated moderate-overlap front and updated side tests.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard safety suite includes lane keep assist, lane follow assist, forward collision avoidance assist, a driver attention monitor, high beam assist, and rear parking sensors. To get blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, junction turning collision avoidance assist, front parking sensors, and safe exit assist, you need to move up to the EX trim. EX+ adds a surround-view camera system and a blind-spot camera system, while SX adds reserve parking collision avoidance assist.

The mixed IIHS results are the main caveat to keep in mind if safety is a top priority.

Should I buy a 2024 Kia Carnival or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.45% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over unchanged ahead of a 2025 refresh, while still offering a strong value proposition and a great driving experience.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $33,288 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $38,004 CAD average.
• It stands out by making the minivan formula look and feel more stylish.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market value picture and are comfortable with the 2024’s compromises, it is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the Carnival’s distinctive style.
