Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata stands out because it combines striking styling, a long list of standard equipment, and a more polished cabin than earlier versions of the car. It is a good fit if you want a comfortable, efficient midsize sedan with plenty of safety technology, above-average interior and trunk space, and a relaxed, well-equipped cruiser rather than a sporty sedan.

For you, that means the Sonata makes the most sense if comfort, technology, and distinctive design matter more than sharp handling. 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there is meaningful value in the market right now.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is presented as a well-equipped, comfortable midsize sedan with a polished cabin and a strong safety feature set. Its standard equipment and relaxed road manners support the case for an easygoing ownership experience.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a car with lots of technology and comfort features can be more expensive to keep in top shape if neglected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 151 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.03% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,476 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $28,476 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,123 CAD.

That drop suggests the Sonata is currently in a softer pricing phase, which can help you as a buyer today. If you plan to sell later, the recent decline means resale expectations should be more conservative than they were a year ago. For a future seller, the key takeaway is that well-priced, well-kept examples should still attract interest, but you may need to price competitively to move the car.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.03% compared with last year.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $32,054 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $28,476 CAD average.
• It adds improved crash-test ratings and rear-seat air vents.

The bottom line: the 2024 Sonata is the better value if you want the refreshed design and a lower entry price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2024 is the stronger buy; if you want the newer model-year improvements and can spend more, the 2025 is worth a look.
