Used 2024 Hyundai Kona for Sale near Thornhill, ON

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Kona cost?

Prices have softened 11.43% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 786 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The 2024 Kona is all-new, with a new look, new technology, and a compact footprint that still keeps everyday practicality front and centre. It also offers multiple powertrain options and standard advanced safety features, which broadens its appeal in the subcompact SUV segment.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the cabin does not offer enough covered storage.

With 31.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Hyundai’s packaging of safety and technology is a recurring strength here, and the Kona’s all-new generation builds on that with a more modern design and updated equipment. The available powertrain range also gives you flexibility to choose the version that best fits your needs.

The performance content points to a straightforward engine lineup and standard front-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive available on some trims and standard on the N Line. Hyundai also says OTA update capability is standard, which helps the vehicle stay current over time.

If you buy used, the main long-term ownership risk is that the more feature-rich versions may cost more to maintain and replace if their added equipment needs attention.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Essential trim gets the new look and standard LED lighting, but the Preferred adds more substantial equipment, while the N Line brings the sportier appearance and larger wheels. If you want the best balance of features and value, the mid-grade trim is the one to focus on.
• Powertrain: The Essential and Preferred use a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the N Line uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic. AWD is available on Essential and Preferred for an added fee and is standard on N Line.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite is part of the Kona’s safety story, and standard equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard from the Preferred trim, and the N Line’s Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: Every trim gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all trims in Canada except the N Line with the Ultimate package, OTA update capability, and Bluelink connected services. The N Line also gets dual 12.3-inch displays in its curved housing.
• Fuel efficiency: The base engine is rated at 8.1 L/100 km city, 6.8 highway, and 7.5 combined with FWD, while AWD changes those figures to 8.8/8.1/8.5. The N Line AWD is rated at 9.7 L/100 km city, 8.3 highway, and 9.1 combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona is offered in 3 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, N Line.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the new-generation Kona design, standard LED lighting, and the 12.3-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the lowest price and can live without some of the added convenience and safety upgrades.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more equipment while staying below the sportier N Line. It also brings adaptive cruise control, making it the trim to target if you want the strongest mix of value and everyday usability.
• N Line: Choose this if you want the turbocharged engine, standard AWD, paddle shifters, and the more aggressive appearance. It is the most feature-rich and performance-oriented version, but it also sits at the top of the range.

The N Line’s Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor, so that safety-focused upgrade is worth noting if you are comparing higher-spec examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 786 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,181 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $27,181 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,688 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Kona has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help keep demand healthy in the near term. For a future seller, that means the market may reward well-equipped examples and clean-condition vehicles more than bare-bones trims.

Because the model is all-new and well equipped, it should remain appealing to shoppers who want modern tech and safety features in a compact package. If pricing stays disciplined, that should help support resale strength over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite is part of the Kona’s safety story, and standard equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.43% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new generation brings fresh design, new technology, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,340 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,181 CAD average.
• It stays mostly unchanged while keeping the same practical, roomy feel.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong equipment and broad appeal. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year with minimal change, the 2025 is still worth a look, but price-sensitive buyers should start with the 2024.
