How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 9.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 886 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic earns a 4.5/5 user rating and an 8.00/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the new look, interior design, smooth manual shifting, and great gas mileage. The Civic also comes across as easy to use and enjoyable to drive, which fits its enthusiast-friendly character.

The main trade-offs are road and wind noise, plus a driving experience that can be less relaxed when you push it hard. In use, it suits you best if you want a compact car that balances everyday usability with a more engaging feel.

With 31.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling car that people are happy to live with over time, especially because of its smooth shifting, strong fuel economy, and generally satisfying ownership experience. The expert evaluation also describes it as a car that works well as a daily driver, which supports the idea that it can be counted on for regular use.

Honda also includes a broad set of standard equipment, which can help reduce the need to add options later. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some examples may have been driven hard, so condition and maintenance history matter more than the badge alone.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si’s stealthy styling, red interior accents, LED lighting, gloss-black exterior details, and 18-inch wheels help it stand apart, but the base setup still focuses on subtle performance rather than luxury. You should check whether the features you want are present, since the car’s appeal is tied closely to its enthusiast-oriented equipment.
• Powertrain: You get a high-output turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed manual, rev-matching, and a helical limited-slip differential. It is tuned for engagement and strong passing power, not all-weather versatility.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. Some of these systems can feel intrusive in daily driving.
• Infotainment: Every Civic Si gets a 9-inch colour touchscreen with onboard navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, HD Radio, and HondaLink. A 12-speaker Bose sound system is also standard.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says it should burn 7.7 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test route returned 8.0 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

Civic Si: This is the trim to buy if you want the full enthusiast experience, with the turbocharged engine, six-speed manual, rev-matching, limited-slip differential, upgraded brakes, and the best technology package in the lineup. It is the clear choice for drivers who value engagement and want the strongest mix of performance and equipment.

The standard Honda Sensing safety package is included, but some of its features can feel intrusive, so you should test them on your own route before buying.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 886 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,457 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $27,457 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,286 CAD.

That softer pricing can be helpful if you are buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. If demand stays steady, the Civic’s strong reputation and broad appeal should help support resale better than many rivals. Still, a seller will likely need clean condition, good maintenance records, and the right trim to stand out.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic safe?

The 2024 Civic sedan earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and five-star ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, except for a four-star rating for front passenger protection in a frontal-impact collision.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition.

The main caveat is that several of those driver-assistance features can feel irritating in real-world use, especially lane-keeping and adaptive cruise control behaviour. If you value a calmer driving experience, you should test the system carefully before you buy.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the Civic Si formula focused on manual-shift fun, strong tech, and enthusiast appeal.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,053 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,457 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed, more flexible lineup with broader powertrain choices.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the smarter buy. If you are willing to pay more for a refreshed lineup and broader configuration choices, the 2025 is worth a look.
