Is the 2024 GMC Terrain a good car?

Yes — the 2024 GMC Terrain earns a 5/5 user rating, and it backs that up with a roomy cabin, good safety ratings, standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a more premium feel than many compact SUV rivals. It is a sensible choice if you want a comfortable, well-equipped small SUV with a distinctive look and a slightly upscale interior without stepping up to a larger vehicle. With 35.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2024 GMC Terrain reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Terrain’s appeal comes from its practical layout, comfortable road manners, and straightforward powertrain setup, all of which support an ownership experience that should feel familiar and manageable. Its premium-leaning positioning and standard equipment also make it a reassuring used buy if you want a compact SUV that feels a bit more polished than the average mainstream alternative. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that some interior materials feel cheap and cargo space is not class-leading, so you should inspect wear carefully and make sure the vehicle suits your day-to-day needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Terrain?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 754 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,627 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Terrain's resale value?

The current average of $29,627 CAD sits slightly below last year's $34,273 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Terrain has become more accessible for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer market than they would have a year ago. If you buy at the right price and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you may be better positioned to limit depreciation pressure later. The Terrain’s premium-leaning image and broad appeal should help it remain relevant, but resale will still depend heavily on mileage, condition, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Terrain or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2024 Terrain makes the most sense if you want a used compact SUV with a more premium feel, a roomy cabin, and a price that has come down from last year. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years as well, but the 2024 is the better pick when you want the newer-year balance of value, comfort, and equipment.
