How much does the 2024 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 223 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2024 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Mustang earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Technology.

Owners consistently praise the Mustang’s performance, driving experience, and updated technology. The user feedback also highlights the engine sound and the availability of heated and ventilated seats in higher trims, while the manual transmission remains a favourite for drivers who want a more engaging feel.

On the downside, the expert review points to a cramped back seat and limited cargo space, and it also notes that the car can be noisy. That makes the Mustang a strong fit if you want a fun, nostalgic coupe for spirited driving, but less ideal if you need everyday practicality.

With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a car that feels reliable, dependable, and enjoyable to live with over time, especially when it comes to performance and driving enjoyment. The owner summary also suggests the Mustang is a car people feel good about keeping for the long term, particularly when they value its character and updated technology.

The expert review adds that the Mustang is approachable and easy to drive, which supports confidence in day-to-day use. It also notes that the manual transmission is easy to operate, even if you are new to stick shifts.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a sporty car like this can be more sensitive to how it was driven and maintained, so service history matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Mustang?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: Base models use a more separated dual-screen layout, while Premium models place the displays in a single enclosure. The cabin also gets a cleaner, more modern look than the previous Mustang, but you should check whether the trim you are considering includes the upgraded materials and features you want.
• Powertrain: The EcoBoost 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder makes 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, while GT models use a 5.0-litre V8 with 480 hp and 415 lb-ft. The V8 can rise to 486 hp and 418 lb-ft with the optional Active Exhaust system. Rear-wheel drive is the only drivetrain.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control and a safe passenger exit warning are available as options.
• Infotainment: Every model gets a 13.2-inch touchscreen and a digital instrument cluster. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with Amazon Alexa integration and a Wi-Fi hotspot. A native navigation system and a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system are optional.
• Fuel efficiency: The EcoBoost is rated at 10.8 L/100 km city, 7.1 L/100 km highway, and 9.2 L/100 km combined. With the Performance Pack, those figures rise to 11.1/8.2/9.8 L/100 km. The GT automatic is rated at 15.8/9.8/13.1 L/100 km, while the manual is rated at 16.6/10.2/13.8 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Mustang is offered in 4 trim levels: EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium.

Here's the short version:

• EcoBoost: This is the value play if you want the Mustang experience at the lowest starting price. You still get the 13.2-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and the core safety suite, so it covers the essentials well.
• EcoBoost Premium: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin and the single-enclosure display layout. It is the better pick if interior presentation matters to you and you want a more polished daily-driver feel.
• GT: This is the best choice if you want the full muscle-car character. The V8 brings a major jump in power and sound, and the manual transmission is standard, which makes it the enthusiast’s pick.
• GT Premium: This is the trim to target if you want the V8 experience with the more upscale interior treatment and the strongest mix of performance and comfort features.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while adaptive cruise control and the safe passenger exit warning remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.

• Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 223 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $48,613 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $52,946 CAD sits slightly above last year's $52,623 CAD.

That small increase suggests the Mustang has held its value fairly well in the current market. For a future seller, that kind of stability is helpful because it points to steady buyer interest rather than a sharp drop in demand.

The year-over-year change is modest, which usually means you are less likely to see dramatic swings in resale pricing if the car is kept in good condition. Strong demand for the Mustang’s performance image and enthusiast appeal should continue to support used values.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Mustang safe?

The 2024 Ford Mustang has not yet been crash tested, but the previous generation on which it is based earned five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA and a Good rating from IIHS in all tests except the driver-side small overlap test, where it scored Acceptable.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control and a safe passenger exit warning are available as options.

The main caveat is that the current model’s own crash-test results are not yet available, so you are leaning on the previous generation’s performance as a guide.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 stands out as the last remaining muscle car, with major interior and technology upgrades that make it feel more modern without losing its classic character.

The bottom line: The 2024 is the right pick if you want the newest version of the Mustang formula and value the updated cabin, tech, and strong owner satisfaction. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may still make sense, but the 2024 gives you a compelling mix of stability, desirability, and modernisation.
