Used 2024 Ford Escape for Sale nearMontreal, QC

How much does the 2024 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 14.95% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 655 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Escape earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.17/10 expert rating.

The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

It remains a practical and comfortable compact crossover with multiple powertrain options and impressive technology, but its cabin materials and cargo packaging hold it back. The expert test drive also notes that the turbocharged setup delivers quick acceleration, though the driving character is more relaxed than sporty.

Its 38.9% good-or-great deal share suggests there are still some attractive listings if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Escape is presented as a familiar, carryover model with no major changes after the 2023 update, which can be reassuring if you prefer a known quantity. Its powertrain range and standard driver-assistance equipment also point to a well-developed package rather than a first-year experiment.

The performance notes describe the drivetrain as straightforward and the AWD system as having a driveline disconnect feature to help improve fuel economy. The cost-effectiveness notes also point to the hybrid’s strong efficiency case, including as little as 6.0 L/100 km in combined driving.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the cabin quality and value proposition may age less gracefully than the mechanical and technology content.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Escape?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid. The base trim appears to have been dropped, so you should pay close attention to which equipment is standard versus reserved for higher trims, especially if you want the more upscale tech and appearance upgrades.
• Powertrain: You can find a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 199 pound-feet of torque, a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque, and a hybrid powertrain rated at 192 horsepower. The 1.5-litre setup is the more efficiency-minded choice among the gas engines, while the 2.0-litre version is quicker but less convincing on value.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and post-collision automatic braking. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Lower trims use an 8-inch display, while upper trims get a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 13.2-inch Sync 4 touchscreen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included on lower trims, along with SiriusXM 360L and FordPass Connect services.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.0-litre AWD setup is rated at 8.4 L/100 km in combined driving, while the same engine with FWD is rated at 8.0 L/100 km. The hybrid is rated at 6.0 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which 2024 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Escape is offered in 6 trim levels: Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Active: This is the trim to start with if you want the Escape’s core comfort, technology, and a more sensible price point. It uses the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, and it makes the most sense if you want the Escape’s easygoing character without paying for the pricier 2.0-litre models.
• ST-Line: This is the best-value trim if you want the hybrid powertrain, because it unlocks the efficiency-focused setup while keeping the Escape’s modern tech and safety content. It is the trim to target if fuel savings matter more than extra performance.
• ST-Line Select: This trim adds the 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and AWD, but the expert notes suggest the stronger engine is not the best value here. You should consider it only if you specifically want the extra power and AWD.
• Platinum: This trim leans into a more upscale feel, but the expert commentary suggests the 2.0-litre engine still does not fully justify the added cost. It suits you best if you want a more premium presentation and are willing to pay for it.
• ST-Line Elite: This is the loaded version of the sporty-looking Escape, with the larger display, premium tech, and available luxury touches. It is the right pick if you want the most equipment, but it is also the trim where value concerns become hardest to ignore.
• Plug-in Hybrid: Choose this if you want the most specialised efficiency-focused version and can live with FWD. It stands apart for its electric-only driving range and standard equipment, but it is best for buyers who can make use of plug-in charging.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but some advanced driver-assistance features and camera tech are reserved for higher trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 655 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.95% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $28,365 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $28,615 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,646 CAD.

That decline suggests the Escape is currently in a softer pricing phase, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favourable if you plan to sell soon. A lower entry price today may help future depreciation feel less steep, but it also means sellers may need to be more realistic when they list. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the risk of taking an outsized hit later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape safe?

The 2024 Escape earns five-star ratings across the board, aside from a four-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA. It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high-beam headlights, and post-collision automatic braking. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

The expert notes also point to a caveat: the lane-keeping systems were inconsistent on test, and predictive speed assist could slow the SUV too much for curves. That means the hardware is broad, but the tuning may not always feel polished in everyday use.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford’s 2024 update carries forward the 2023 redesign, with more aggressive styling and updated technology.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,647 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $28,615 CAD average.
• It offers upscale design and tech-forward appeal.

The 2024 is the better choice if you want the latest version of the refreshed Escape and are shopping for a deal in today’s softer market. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still gives you much of the same core appeal.
