Is the 2022 Ford Escape reliable?

For used buyers, that suggests the ownership experience is generally reassuring, though you should still prioritise a clean service history and a thorough pre-purchase inspection to manage long-term risk.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 480 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.70% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,105 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $22,105 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,613 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, buying closer to the lower end of the range gives you more room to protect your equity. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,016 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $22,105 CAD average.
• It adds more safety and infotainment technology.

The bottom line: Choose the 2022 if you want the better value and a softer market entry point. If you can stretch your budget and want newer equipment, the 2023 is the better secondary path.
