Used 2024 Ford Escape for Sale near Quebec

How much does the 2024 Ford Escape cost?

Prices have softened 13.56% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 714 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Escape earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 8/10.

The 2024 Ford Escape stands out as a compact crossover that still offers multiple powertrain options, comfortable driving manners, and impressive technology. It is a familiar choice rather than a fresh one, and it suits you best if you want an easygoing compact crossover with a broad mechanical range and a well-equipped feel.

The trade-offs are clear: the interior materials feel cheap, cargo space is uncompetitive, and it is considered poor value for money. Even so, the market shows 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Ford Escape is presented as a familiar, carryover model after a substantial makeover in 2023, which can be reassuring if you prefer a known quantity. Its standard Ford Co-Pilot360 suite and broad technology package suggest a well-developed ownership experience, and the performance notes point to a powertrain that is straightforward to live with.

The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that the hybrid can make a good case if efficiency matters to you, and that the plug-in hybrid brings lots of standard equipment. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the Escape’s value proposition is weaker than some rivals, so you should be especially careful about price and trim.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Escape?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The 2024 Escape is offered in Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid trim levels. The base trim appears to have been dropped, and lower trims miss some of the richer equipment and larger-screen tech found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 1.5-litre turbocharged three-cylinder with 180 horsepower and a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid is also mentioned as a separate model, and the turbocharged setup is paired with an eight-speed automatic.
• Safety package: Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, with forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam headlights. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get an 8-inch display, while upper trims feature a 12.3-inch display. The 13.2-inch Sync 4 system adds wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM 360L satellite radio, FordPass Connect services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The turbocharged AWD model is rated at 8.4 L/100 km in combined driving, while the FWD version is rated at 8.0 L/100 km. The turbocharged test vehicle averaged 9.8 L/100 km on the testing route.

Which 2024 Ford Escape trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Escape is offered in 6 trim levels: Active, ST-Line, ST-Line Select, Platinum, ST-Line Elite, and Plug-in Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• Active: This is the entry point if you want the Escape’s core formula without paying for the more expensive tech and appearance upgrades. It should suit you if you want the least complicated path into the model, but it will not deliver the richer cabin presentation or larger-screen experience found higher up.
• ST-Line: This is the trim to focus on if you want the best balance of equipment and value. It keeps the Escape’s comfortable, easygoing character while giving you a more appealing look and access to the broader tech story without pushing too far into expensive territory.
• ST-Line Select: This trim adds all-wheel drive and the stronger 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, but the expert review suggests that engine is wasted in this application. It makes sense only if you specifically want the extra power and AWD.
• Platinum: This is the more upscale choice, but the review does not make a strong case for it on value. You should consider it only if you want a more premium-feeling Escape and are comfortable paying more for it.
• ST-Line Elite: This is the loaded version with the 13.2-inch Sync 4 system, larger digital instrumentation, and available Premium Technology Package content. It is the most feature-rich gas model, but it also lands in expensive territory.
• Plug-in Hybrid: Choose this if efficiency and electric-only driving matter most. It brings lots of standard equipment and a 60-kilometre electric-only range, but it comes only with front-wheel drive.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard across the range, but some advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims or packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Escape?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find opportunities.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 714 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.56% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,800 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Escape's resale value?

The current average of $27,800 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,161 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means a future seller may face more price pressure than owners did a year ago. If you buy now, you should expect resale value to depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the vehicle is priced relative to the market. The strongest listings will be the ones that combine desirable equipment with a sensible asking price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Escape safe?

The 2024 Escape earns five-star ratings across the board, aside from a four-star rollover resistance rating from NHTSA.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Ford Co-Pilot360 is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and automatic high-beam headlights. Higher trims can add adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, predictive speed assist, evasive steering assist, lane-centring assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera system.

The review also notes that the lane-keeping systems behaved inconsistently on the test drive, and predictive speed assist could slow the SUV too much for upcoming curves. That is worth keeping in mind if you plan to rely heavily on the driver-assistance features.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Escape or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.56% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• Ford’s 2024 update carries over the 2023 makeover and adds no major changes.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $26,093 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $27,800 CAD average.
• It offers strong technology and an available powerful engine.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the latest version of the Escape’s updated design and are shopping the current market for a deal. If price is your top priority, the 2023 is the better value play because it delivers much of the same core appeal for less money.
