Used 2023 Volvo XC60 for Sale nearHalifax, NS

How much does the 2023 Volvo XC60 cost?

Prices have softened 18.62% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 267 listings available, which suggests you have a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 a good car?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is a compelling choice if you want a luxury SUV that blends plug-in hybrid flexibility, strong safety credentials, and upscale design, though it comes with some compromises. It earns 3/5 from users and 8/10 from our experts.

The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Safety.

Its appeal is strongest if you want electric-only driving for shorter trips without giving up gasoline backup for longer journeys. The styling and technology are standout strengths, and the safety reputation is a major part of the XC60’s premium character.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: acceleration and braking can feel abrupt, and rear-seat legroom is tight. Value for the money is also a concern, especially when you compare it with what else is available in the segment.

With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to find a competitive example if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 reliable?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is built around a refined, well-developed platform, and Volvo’s long-running focus on safety and engineering gives it a reassuring foundation. The expert evaluation also highlights that the XC60 has improved steadily since its last full redesign, which is a positive sign for used buyers.

Its plug-in hybrid setup is described as a strong blend of style, performance, and efficiency, and the powertrain update brought a more powerful electric motor that improved the driving experience. The system is also presented as a practical way to ease into EV-style ownership while keeping the security of a gasoline engine.

If you plan to use it as intended and keep up with charging and maintenance, the long-term ownership risk looks manageable, but the complexity of a PHEV means you should be especially careful with service history and battery-related use patterns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Ultimate trim is the most fully equipped version described here, with the available safety features and a more upscale cabin presentation. The base trims are less richly appointed, so you should check whether the features you want are standard or reserved for higher trims.
• Powertrain: The Recharge model uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder gas engine, an electric motor at the rear, and an eight-speed automatic transmission. It offers an estimated 58 kilometres of electric driving range and 455 horsepower, so you should confirm that the hybrid system operates smoothly and that charging behaviour matches your needs.
• Safety package: Pilot Assist is the key driver-assistance suite, combining adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, and lane-centring capability on the highway. Oncoming Lane Mitigation is also included. The Ultimate trim is the one described as having all available safety features.
• Infotainment: The XC60 Recharge uses a 9-inch portrait-style touchscreen with Google Built-in, four years of complimentary access to Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play, plus Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, SiriusXM satellite radio, and Wi-Fi access. A 12-inch digital instrumentation panel is standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The expert evaluation recorded 4.3 L/100 km over a 105-kilometre route in mixed use, and 11.9 L/100 km during a highway-heavy Charge-mode trip. Those figures make charging habits especially important if you want to keep running costs down.

Which 2023 Volvo XC60 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 is offered in 4 trim levels: Core trim, Plus trim, Ultimate trim, and Polestar Engineered trim.

Here's the short version:

• Core: This is the entry point if you want the XC60’s core plug-in hybrid experience without stretching to the pricier trims. It makes sense if you care most about getting into the model’s design, efficiency, and premium feel at the lowest starting point.
• Plus: This is the trim to target if you want a better balance of equipment and value. It should be the most sensible choice for many shoppers because it sits above the base model without pushing all the way to the most expensive versions.
• Ultimate: This is the best-value trim if you want the most complete version of the XC60 Recharge described here. It brings the richest cabin presentation and the full safety feature set, and it is the trim that was tested.
• Polestar Engineered: Choose this only if you want the most performance-focused version in the range. It is the specialist trim for buyers who want the sportiest character rather than the broadest value.

The Ultimate trim is the one tied to the full safety feature set, including Pilot Assist and Oncoming Lane Mitigation.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Volvo XC60?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you are patient and compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 267 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.62% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,035 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Volvo XC60's resale value?

The current average of $40,035 CAD sits slightly below last year's $49,193 CAD.

That price movement suggests the XC60 has become more accessible for used buyers, which can help you if you are shopping now. For a future seller, it means you may face more competition when it is time to list, especially if the market stays soft.

The good news is that the current range still leaves room for well-kept examples to stand out. If you maintain the vehicle carefully and keep service records, you should be in a better position to protect value than a neglected example.

Is the 2023 Volvo XC60 safe?

The 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge does not have a NHTSA safety assessment listed here, but the XC60 B5 and B6 mild-hybrids earn a Top Safety Pick+ rating from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Pilot Assist is the headline driver-assistance system, combining adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, lane keeping assist, and lane-centring capability on the highway. Oncoming Lane Mitigation is also included, helping with oncoming-traffic situations and unsafe left turns across traffic.

The main caveat is that the PHEV version itself is not the one specifically assessed in the crash-test note provided here, so you should keep that distinction in mind when comparing variants.

Should I buy a 2023 Volvo XC60 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 18.62% compared with last year.
• The 2023 XC60 Recharge is a strong fit if you want plug-in hybrid flexibility, upscale design, and a premium safety reputation.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,939 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $40,035 CAD average.
• The 2022 adds fresh powertrains and updated infotainment to a refined, well-sized luxury crossover.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the more compelling plug-in hybrid setup and are comfortable paying a bit more for the updated package. If your priority is saving money up front, the 2022 is the better value path and still gives you the XC60’s core strengths.
